(AllHipHop News) There may be an ongoing debate about the quality of Eminem’s new album Revival. However, the Hip Hop legend still managed to open in the top spot on the Billboard 200 with 267,000 equivalent album units.
That achievement gives Em his 8th consecutive #1 on the album chart. According to Billboard, this is the first time an act has earned eight straight chart entries to open at the apex.
Jay-Z, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones also have eight Number Ones studio LPs in their respective catalogs, but none of those iconic performers had eight consecutive projects to debut at #1 without non-studio sets breaking the streak. The Beatles hold the record for the most #1 albums with 19, and Jay has the most chart-toppers for a solo act with 14.
