Floetry cofounder Marsha Ambrosius and emcee/singer Amanda Diva have embarked on a new musical collaboration called the Floetry Remixed Tour, which hits the road on July 26.Marsha Ambrosius, a native of London, has been signed to Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Records as a solo artist and appeared on numerous song from Busta Rhymes, Nas and The Game in between Floetry projects.
With “floacist” Natalie Stewart, the other half of the original group, Floetry has won a Grammy and released three acclaimed albums (Flo’Ology, Floacism and Floetic).
The pair’s tour will offer a slightly different look for the group in the live performance setting.
Amanda Diva told AllHipHop.com, “Marsha and I clicked instantly and both wanted to bring something dope to the game so it only made sense.”
Amanda Diva has been a renaissance woman of sorts with appearances on Def Poetry Jam and and an underground single “40 Emcees.”
She has lent her talents to VH-1 as a regular on “Best Week Ever” and even as a contributing writer to AllHipHop.com, among other Hip-Hop publications. Diva also has a highly rated, long-running morning show on Sirius satellite radio. All of their talents are slated to come into a show that will traverse the country.The pair has been practicing their show in Philadelphia, where Ambrosius resides.
The singer said that her aim for the tour is simple. “I just want to make good music, ” she said, no expounding.
The tour will hit 21 cities across the nation starting July 26th in Boston and ending in Cleveland on August 25th.
