How Can I Be Down
Inc. and X/O Management have come together to put on a concert celebrating Hip-Hop’s
pioneers and the impact they have made over the years.
The event will be hosted
by Prince Markie D of The Fat Boys and feature performances from Doug E. Fresh,
Slick Rick, Dana Dane, Chubb Rock, Nice & Smooth and Special Ed.
The concert will be in conjunction
with the famed How Can I Be Down weekend, which will start on Thursday, July
14th.
HCIBD was established in
Miami in 1993 and is known for bringing out some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop.
The event has allowed up-and-comers the opportunity to network and establish
relationships and enabled those new to the business a chance to learn the industry.
This year’s HCIBD will coincide
with The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network and will feature informative panels conducted
by leaders within the Hip-Hop Community, including Russell Simmons and Damon
Dash.
The concert will take place
on Sunday, July 17 at Mansion on South Beach. Advance tickets are on sale for
$40 and are available at 136 Collins Ave., Monday through Friday from 11am till
5pm. The first 100 ladies will receive free admission.
