On Saturday March 3, 2007 the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN) returns to Houston to kick off the “Get Your Money Right” tour.
Joining Co-Chairman Russell Simmons and Dr. Benjamin Chavis will be Hip-Hop stars like E-40, Chingo Bling and Slim Thug, as well as R&B/ pop stars Ciara and Monica, Mathew Knowles, super producer Bryan- Michael Cox, and Congressman Al Green (D-TX).
The summit will be co-moderated by television personality Free as well as Dr. Chavis.
“We are returning to Houston enthusiastically,” said Simmons. “This city continues to produce some of the best and most committed artist that help make a difference across America and throughout the world. The summit on financial empowerment is an opportunity to share important lessons about life and the effective use of money.”
The “Get Your Money Right Tour” was established to speak to young America on the importance of financial empowerment.
The intellectual based summit focuses on issues such as banking, repairing and understanding credit scores, asset and wealth management, vehicle financing and home ownership.
Now in its third year, the “Get Your Money Right” tour brings together a combination of Hip-Hop stars and Chrysler Financial experts (Chrysler who are the title sponsors of the event), to speak to students and the community on the significance of financial literacy.
The 2007 “Get You Money Right” tour will make six stops including Detroit, MI (April 14), Toronto, Ontario (August), Greensboro, N.C. (Sept. 8), Washington, D.C. (Sept. 29) Miami, Fla. (Oct. 20) and Atlanta, GA. (Nov. 3).
