(AllHipHop News) Rumors began circulating the internet that Insecure creator Issa Rae may have curved Drake after the Golden Globes. Apparently, the two stars interacted following Sunday night’s event.

E! News reports:

One source says when Drake spotted Issa, he “made his whole group stop so he could go talk to her.” After “he asked her if she wanted to come to the Netflix party with him,” the insider says the actress told Drake “she was with all her friends,” and was like, “‘Thanks, but no thanks!'” The sources says Issa “walked away” and Drake essentially “got denied.”

Rae responded to the speculation on Twitter. She posted, “*Obsessed Fan Who Dedicated Entire Season to Artist Continues to Shamelessly Fangirl When She Sees Him at Party Later.”

While speaking with Genius last year, Issa Rae talked about incorporating Drake’s lyrics into the first season of Insecure.

She stated:

I think meeting with [showrunner] Prentice [Penny] when we meet at Cabana before each season to just drink and talk about what we want to explore in the seasons, and before we even started talking about stories, I was like, “Yo so in the first season, for myself, I just want to do Drake lyrics. I want people to just utter dialogue that are Drake lyrics. ‘Cause it’s possible.” And he was like, “I mean okay. But can we talk about like the story now?” And I was like, “Cool, but just know that I want to do that.” And it just ended up being fun, and some of the other writers got involved with just finding different places where we could put his lyrics as natural dialogue that the characters would say. And you know, a Drake superfan caught on to all of them, and made references.
