Kendrick Lamar To Perform ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ At The Kennedy Center

COMPTON’S SON IS HEADED TO DC

(AllHipHop News) Kendrick Lamar is headed to Washington, DC to participate in a rare achievement for a Hip Hop artist. The TDE emcee is scheduled to perform at the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Lamar will run through songs from his critically acclaimed album To Pimp A Butterfly. The one night only performance will include the Compton representative being back by Washington’s National Symphony Orchestra.

Previously, Hip Hop legend Nas performed his magnum opus Illmatic at the Kennedy Center as part of the “One Mic: Hip-Hop Culture Worldwide” festival in 2014. Lauryn Hill, MC Lyte, and Jean Grae were part of the event as well.
