Key Glock found his Governors Ball weekend derailed Sunday (June 8) when two members of his entourage were arrested in Queens after security discovered loaded firearms and a switchblade as they attempted to enter the VIP area of the music festival.
Joshua Crutcher, 31, and Dion Michaels, 22, were taken into custody at Flushing Meadows Corona Park after security flagged the group during a routine check.
According to The New York Post, Crutcher had a loaded Glock 23 tucked in his waistband, while Michaels admitted to having a loaded Glock 43x in his car’s center console.
Officers also recovered a switchblade and extra ammunition. Both men now face multiple felony charges for illegal weapon possession.
While Glock himself was not arrested or implicated, the presence of armed associates raises questions about security concerns surrounding the Memphis rapper.
Key Glock has remained closely tied to the legacy of his cousin and mentor, Young Dolph, who was murdered in a high-profile shooting in Memphis in 2021.
Dolph was gunned down outside Makeda’s Butter Cookies on November 17, 2021.
Prosecutors later revealed the killing was a $100,000 contract hit, allegedly orchestrated by Anthony “Big Jook” Mims, the brother of rapper Yo Gotti. Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith were charged as the shooters.
Johnson was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life plus 50 years.
Smith testified that he and Johnson were promised $50,000 each. Hernandez Govan, accused of connecting the plot, is still awaiting trial. Big Jook was killed in January 2024.
Key Glock, who signed to Dolph’s Paper Route Empire in 2017, has publicly mourned his cousin and vowed to carry on his legacy.
“I lost my left-hand man, my brother, my mentor,” he wrote after the murder.
The two collaborated on two albums — Dum and Dummer and Dum and Dummer 2 — and frequently gave back to their Memphis community.
Given the violent backdrop and Glock’s proximity to the tragedy, some observers believe the entourage may have felt the need to carry weapons for protection.
However, New York’s strict gun laws leave little room for leniency.
Crutcher’s next court date is Tuesday (June 18), while Michaels is set to appear on Wednesday (August 13).
