(AllHipHop News) Most objective observers could understand an argument being made that Drake is the most popular rapper in the game at the moment. But is the OVO leader the biggest rap star ever? A fellow Canadian says yes.

Madchild recently spoke with Montreality, and the “Lose My Mind” rhymer offered extremely high praise for Drizzy. According to him, Drake is the biggest act in the history of the culture.

“He’s the biggest artist in the world. He’s bigger than Jay Z now. He’s bigger than everybody. He’s bigger than Lil Wayne. He’s bigger than anyone [that] ever was,” said Madchild. “He’s the biggest. He’s as big as Eminem was when Eminem was the biggest.”

Drake has been one of the most commercially successful artists of this era. The “Hotline Bling” singer became the fourth artist to have at least 100 entries on the Hot 100 chart, and he has sold approximately 8 million albums over his career.

In comparison, Eminem has sold over 40 million albums, Jay Z has sold over 27 million albums, and Lil Wayne has sold over 15 million albums. Wayne (127) leads the list of rap stars (3rd overall) with the most Hot 100 entries with Jay (83) and Em (53) placing in the top 25 among all artists in history.

When it comes to the most prestigious award in the music industry, Drake has won one Grammy. Jay Z has won 21, Eminem has won 15, and Lil Wayne has won 4. Kanye West is tied with Jay Z for the most Grammy wins by a rap artist (21).
