Megan Thee Stallion finally released her official debut studio LP. Good News arrived on November 20 with guest features from DaBaby, City Girls, SZA, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Beyoncé, and more.
Previously, Megan let loose the projects Tina Snow, Fever, and Suga. The latter two bodies of work made it into the Top 10 of the Billboard 200, but Good News has now become the southern rapper’s highest-charting effort.
Thee Stallion’s Good News amassed 100,500 total first-week units with a weekly-best 115.85 million on-demand streams. Those numbers were enough for the Texan to land at #2 on the latest Billboard 200 rankings.
“We just keep beating the odds hotties!! Doing everything they said we couldn’t!! Thank y’all so much for always supporting me and I promise to keep getting better for y’all. Thank you to everyone who was apart of creating this album!! Keep running up GOOD NEWS,” wrote Meg on Instagram.
K-Pop group BTS’s Be took #1 (242,000 units) this week, and Pop vocalist Ariana Grande’s Positions fell to #3 (61,000 units). Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon climbed one position to #4 ( 52,000 units). Future and Lil Uzi Vert’s Pluto x Baby Pluto dropped three spots to #5 (46,000 units).
