Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def, took the stage at the Cult of Montreal, but he didn’t perform any music. Instead, he did stand-up comedy.
The Brooklynite garnered a few laughs as he joked about hip-hop’s latest news, the Meek Mill vs. Drake beef.
“The male ego is a boring place,” he said about their back and forth. He even brought Nicki Minaj into it. “She’s a better rapper than both of them dudes.”
The Black Star rep couldn’t leave Kanye West out of the jokes either.
“You had Kanye out at the Pan-Am games sweating and going hard as one of the athletes. He threw that mic in the air so hard it never came down. I was talking to El-P from Run the Jewels the other day and he said it turned into a bird.”
