A number of Hip-Hop acts will band together and hit the road for Rhymesayers Entertainment and Rose Presents’ 2nd Annual Soundset Festival next month.
Over eight hours of independent Hip-Hop music will be featured during this year’s event, which will take place at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota.
Atmosphere will take the stage to perform tracks from the album When Life Give You Lemons, You Paint That Sh*t Gold, while The Pharcyde will play the main stage with Imani, B##### Brown, SlimKid3 and Fatlip, the revered group’s original lineup.
MF Doom will give a rare, one-time performance in the area for the first time since 2004, when Rhymesayers released the rapper’s critically acclaimed about MM..Food the same year.
Additionally, Philadelphia rapper Freeway will hit the stage with producer Jake One and the duo will treat fans to live renditions of tracks from their upcoming Rhymesayers release, The Stimulus Package.
Others on the bill include Immortal Technique, the legendary Def Jux camp, Prince Paul, P.O.S., Mr. Dibbs and TMQ.
Events also going on throughout the day include a DJ tent with a national B-Boy/B-Girl battle, a custom car show, a skate demo courtesy of 3rd Lair and other family oriented events.
According to organizers, over 14,000 fans attended last year’s outdoor festival, which took place at the Metrodome parking lot in Minneapolis.
The 2nd Annual Soundset Festival takes place May 24 at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota.
Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster for $30 plus applicable fees.
