(AllHipHopNews) Missy Elliott will be one of the legendary women honored at the upcoming VH1 Hip Hop Honors awards.
The event has been tagged “All Hail The Queen” and will pay its respects to the female pioneers and trend-setters within Hip-Hop.
The charismatic Virginia native will be paid tribute with performances from the following artists: Pharrell, Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, Remy Ma, Trina, Eve, Tweet, Keyshia Cole, Raven Symone, Monica, Fantasia, and Jazmine Sullivan.
Along with Missy, the other queens of Hip-Hop to be honored are Queen Latifah, Lil Kim, and Salt-n-Pepa.
Missy Elliott is certainly using her recognition within the industry to expand her brand, as she was recently announced as the front for Marc Jacobs Fall 2016 campaign and her image even graced the front of Sprite cans for the brand’s “Obey Your Verse” campaign.
VH1 Hip Hop Honors, which has had its share of memorable moments, is making its return this year after a six year hiatus and is set to air Monday, July 11 at 9 p.m. EST, from David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City.
