Fugee’s
group member Pras Michel has inked a deal with Artists International Management
and will release and executive produce a number of upcoming projects, including
a new album. Pras,
who is known for his role as one-third of the best-selling Hip-Hop group the Fugee’s,
has molded himself into a triple threat focusing on music, acting, and producing.
Along
with his newest album which will be released sometime in 2007, Pras will also
star in a new feature film entitled, Standing Down. Standing
Down is a screenplay written by Ron Zimmerman (The Michael Richards Show,
Action, The Best Man, 7th Heaven) that tells the story of a career
soldier who is coping with life outside the United States Army. The
movie is being directed by Marshall Tyler and also stars actor Ron Perlman, who
has starred in movies like Hellboy, Hellboy 2, Blade 2 and
Star Trek: Nemesis.The
movie is being produced by Michael Manasseri and David Zappone and Kimberley Kates,
who believes audiences will be touched by the movie. "We
are putting together a dynamic team to bring Ron Zimmerman’s powerful script to
life," Kates said. In
addition to appearing in the film, Pras also serves as the executive producer
of and contributes to the soundtrack.
Pras is also producing the upcoming documentary Skid Row. Skid
Row
will take an inside look at life on Los Angeles’ infamous skid row.As part of the documentary Pras went undercover as homeless man and lived on skid
row for nine days with only nine dollars. Some
of Pras’ past movies include Mystery Men, Higher Ed, Nora’s
Hair Salon, and Turn It Up. He
has also appeared in several episodes of the Emmy award-winning show Fastlane.
