Queen
Latifah and LL Cool J will star in a remake of the movie “Last Holiday,” an update
of the 1950’s comedy flick that originally starred Alec Guinness.
Production of the
movie is slated to start next month in New Orleans, before heading off to shoot
the European scenes in Prague.
The movie will
be directed by Wayne Wang, who has directed such movies as “Joy Luck Club,”
and “Maid in Manhattan.”
The movie centers
on Latfiah’s character Georgia Byrd, a shy sales clerk, who heads to Europe
for a vacation, after she learns she has a terminal illness.
In the original
version of the movie, Alec Guinness played George Bird and the male character
suffered from the terminal illness.
Bird travels to
Europe where he unwinds at a luxury hotel. As he begins to have fun, his life
suddenly takes a turn for the better, as does his finances.
No release date
