New York students will get have a little motivation to take the subway to and from school, thanks to a new collaboration between Best of Both Offices and Def Jam Records.
The two companies united to launch the Subway Tour, a new effort designed to promote the Def Jam’s artists as well as offer a chance for artists to interact with students and showcase their music.
The tour, which is the first in a series of collaborations between Best of Both Offices and Def Jam, kicked off Tuesday (May 8) with an appearance from Def Jam’s newest artist, Hot Dollar, on the New York subways.
The rapper will continue the outing today 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday (May 9) on subway lines #N, #Q, #A and #C as well as the Broadway junction stop.
During the tour, Hot Dollar will give away promo CDs as well as real single dollar bills with his name engraved on it from a black sharpie.
The action is designed to build a buzz for the rapper, who is the first Hip-Hop act signed by Island Def Jam president of urban music Jermaine Dupri
In addition, free rides for high school commuters will be provided by Hot Dollar and Best of Both Offices.
The Compton,CA/ Hattisburg, MS rapper is currently working on his Def Jam/Island debut album, which is slated to hit stores in the fourth quarter of this year.
