Atlanta rapper Yung Joc finally appeared in court yesterday (December 26) a surprising seven hours late, to face arraignment on a felony gun possession charge.

The 27-year-old rapper was considered a fugitive earlier, when it appeared that he would be a no show.

An arrest warrant was issued and bond was increased to $100,000, but the warrant was later revoked and bond was decreased back to $50,000 when Yung Joc finally appeared.

Born Jasiel Robinson, Yung Joc was arrested on Christmas Eve at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport following accusations that he attempted to bring a loaded, semiautomatic gun and ammunition onto a Delta Airlines flight.

According to Yung Joc’s attorney, Stanley Jackson Jr., the rapper showed up late to court due to personal financial and family obligations.

A preliminary hearing is set for January 25 and Yung Joc could face up to 18 months in jail.

The young rapper is continuing to maintain his innocence according to his lawyer.

When questioned by reporters outside the courtroom, Yung Joc simply replied, “Happy New Year”.
