Now, over a decade later, the rapper’s passion for women’s shoes and his flair for men’s kicks has led to plans for a shoe store in Staten Island, NY.

“I always been a fan of women’s feet,” Redman told AllHipHop.com. “Why wouldn’t I want to design a shoe? I’m not even looking at it from a money aspect, I just want to see a woman’s fine ass feet in my shoe.”

Aside from designing women’s shoes and opening his own store, Redman’s biggest endeavor this year will be the release of his latest album, Red Gone Wild – Thee Album.

The last album Redman released was Malpractice, which hit stores in 2001.

Redman will perform new songs from Red Gone Wild during a performance at the South By Southwest music festival and conference in Austin, Texas on Mar. 16 and 17.

Six albums and several film and TV appearances later, Redman has still retained his passion for all things music.

“You know you always have passions for a few things in life,” said Redman. “Like you might wanna learn to play the piano or you might wanna learn to play the drums. I want to learn to play the piano, I want to learn to play guitar.”

The first single off of Red Gone Wild – Thee Album, is the Timbaland produced “Put It Down”, which hits radio stations across the country this week.

Red Gone Wild – Thee Album will be released on March 27 and features guest appearances by Method Man, Erick Sermon and Keith Murray, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, and Biz Markie.
