NFL quarterback Russell Wilson’s time as a Denver Broncos player has ended. The franchise informed Wilson he would be released from the team. He and his wife, Ciara, reacted to the news.

Russell Wilson shared a lengthy message to Broncos fans on his Instagram page. Ciara jumped into the social media post’s comment section to express love for her football-playing spouse.

“One of One! My greatest inspiration! I love you #3 #Grateful!” the R&B performer wrote. Other celebrities, such as La La Anthony and Dwyane Wade, also shared positive thoughts about the nine-time Pro Bowler.

The Seattle Seahawks traded Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos in 2022. Wilson accumulated over 6,500 passing yards and 42 touchdowns during his two seasons as Broncos QB. However, the team only went 13-21 in that timeframe.

“Over these last two years, you have welcomed my family and me with open arms and have embraced us as members of the Denver community,” Wilson posted on Instagram.

The Super Bowl XLVIII champion continued, “This city will always hold a special place in my heart. Our family grew here, we made countless memories and friendships, and formed relationships that will last a lifetime.”

Russell Wilson and Ciara got married in 2016. The couple have three children together. Ciara recently gave birth to Amora Princess Wilson in December 2023. Wilson is also the step-father to the singer’s nine-year-old son, Future Zahir Wilburn, with Hip-Hop artist Future.
