(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels has dropped all legal action against the rapper because he didn’t want to deal with the court process.
The former lovers split in 2014 after 12 years together, and the break-up turned nasty as they exchanged a number of bitter messages on social media.
Shortly after they parted ways, Safaree was rumored to have filed an unpaid royalties lawsuit against the “Super Bass” hitmaker, claiming he is owed money for allegedly helping Nicki write her rhymes.
Safaree stepped up the legal fight in May, when he reportedly had the Hip-Hop star served with papers accusing her of subjecting him to emotional and physical abuse during their relationship, allegations Nicki promptly slammed in an angry Twitter message.
She wrote, “Two years later this poor excuse of a man (Safaree) is suing me & claiming to have been physically & emotionally abused. Lol (laugh out loud). He’s so miserable.”
However, it appears Nicki will no longer have to worry about airing out her personal life in court as Safaree reveals he has since decided to withdraw his lawsuit.
Safaree, who now appears on reality show “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood,” claims he chose to dismiss the court action because he didn’t want the dispute to drag on and prevent him from finally enjoying a fresh start.
“I’m doing a lot and I don’t want to have to deal with depositions and courts and all of that,” he continued, adding, “Ain’t nobody threatened me (sic). Ain’t nobody make me do it. At the end of the day, I didn’t even wanna do it… I just dropped it.”
He has also confirmed rumors suggesting Nicki’s new man, Meek Mill, played a role in their 2014 split, amid speculation the “Ima Boss” rapper had exposed Safaree’s supposed infidelity to Minaj, saying Meek definitely played a role in their breakup.
Nicki, who moved on to date Meek in early 2015, has not commented on Safaree’s revealing interview.
