Saweetie & YG Reportedly Break Up—Fans Weigh In On Their Split

Saweetie and YG called it quits less than a year after first sparking dating rumors.

Saweetie and YG’s relationship ended in a matter of months. The couple reportedly had an amicable breakup as word of their split hit gossip outlets on Monday (January 15).

The rappers sparked dating rumors when they were seen together at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2023. A month later, Saweetie and YG confirmed the social media chatter when paparazzi captured their public displays of affection on a vacation in Mexico.

Saweetie and YG’s relationship seemingly managed to avoid much public scrutiny for the rest of the year. But a report of their breakup emerged right after Saweetie became the subject of new dating rumors on social media.

Fans started speculating about Saweetie being romantically involved with Chris Brown over the weekend. The two sat next to each other in the front row at a USC basketball game.

Saweetie hasn’t explicitly mentioned her breakup with YG, but she may have alluded to it on Instagram Stories.

“God movin quick this year,” she wrote.

Saweetie fans are stuck focusing on her personal life as they continue waiting on her debut album Pretty B#### Music. The project still doesn’t have a release despite years of teases. She explained the delay in a 2023 interview with E! News.

“I’ve been through a lot of interesting experiences,” Saweetie said. “So, I wanna put that all into my album in the most artistic and organic way.

She added, “I feel like a debut album is not something you just put out. It’s not something you play with. I’m a Cancer so I like to overthink sometimes, but I think you have to be really careful with that and I take my art really serious.”
