U.S. Rapper Snoop
Dogg was arrested in Stockholm, Sweden on suspicion on minor drug offenses last
night (Mar. 11) after a performance at the Globen Arena.The
rapper was in Stockholm, as part of the Pass The Puff European Tour, which is
being co-headlined by former rival Sean "Diddy" Combs.Snoop
Dogg, born Calvin Broadus, had finished his concert and was due to appear at an
after party at the Scandic Anglais hotel in Stockholm, when police stopped his
vehicle on the Centralbron bridge. Police
searched the car and found a small amount of narcotics, but would not specify
the amount, or the type of drug that was found in the car, because it was unclear
who the drugs belonged to. According
to police, Snoop Dogg and his associate showed "clear signs" of being
under the influence of an unknown narcotic. The
rapper and a 23-year-old female companion were arrested around 1:30 am in what
local reports labeled a "planned raid" and taken to a police station.Snoop
Dogg provided a urine sample and if the tests come back positive for drugs, Snoop
Dogg could be fined. Sources
told AllHipHop.com that earlier in the evening, a hotel room was also raided,
where another associate was arrested with a "carton" of cigarettes,
that police claim contained marijuana. Sweden
has some of the harshest narcotics laws in Europe, but minor drug offenses are
usually punished with fines.Snoop
was released Monday morning around 5:30 am and is scheduled to perform at the
Oslo Spektrum in Olso, Norway tonight.
