Calvin
Broadus, known to the world as Snoop
Dogg was charged with marijuana possession
after police officers stopped two of his tour buses for
speeding and found several bags of the drug. Tray Dee
of Tha Eastsidaz was also arrested.
State police
pulled the buses over after a traffic stop on Interstate
90, west of Cleveland on Wednesday, as Snoop and entourage
had performed at the Agora Theater in Cleveland on Tuesday
night. They were on their way to Detroit around 12:10
p.m. when troopers stopped two of their three commercial
tour buses traveling 77 mph in a 55-mph zone, said patrol
spokesman Lt. Gary Lewis.
In one bust
they found Snoop and smelled burnt marijuana. The police
brought in the drug sniffing dogs and found 6 bags of
weed, weighing around 200 grams.
Snoop was
charged with possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor with
a maximum $100 fine and possession of drug paraphernalia,
which carries a maximum of $250 and 30 days in jail. "During
the contact, [Broadus] was very professional and very
courteous with troopers," Lewis said.
