(AllHipHop News) SZA went into Grammy night 2018 as the most nominated female artist of the year with 5 nods. She left New York City’s Madison Square Garden without a single golden gramophone.

While offering “infinite gratitude” to the Recording Academy when she first learned about her Grammy noms, SZA is now expressing indifference to being shut out. The TDE vocalist spoke about the topic in a cover story with Fader.

“I’m not as mad as I thought I would be,” said SZA. “I didn’t have any expectations, actually. That’s why I wasn’t super upset.”

The article also showcases the singer’s views about her own Ctrl album. Despite being named to numerous music critics’ year-end Top 10 lists, SZA is not in total agreement with much of the world.

“I didn’t even f-ck with my own album, so I was so confused and almost, like, angry that everyone f-cked with it so much,” SZA admitted. “It meant everything I felt about myself was wrong. And it was just like, If that’s not the truth, then what is the truth?

She added, “I think when ‘Love Galore’ went platinum, Donald [Glover] texted me like, ‘Do you still think it sucks?’ And I was like, ‘I dunno.’”

“Love Galore,” which features Travis Scott, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Sung Performance. SZA’s Ctrl was included in the Best Urban Contemporary Album category. She was also nominated for Best R&B Performance (“The Weekend”), Best R&B Song (“Supermodel”), and Best New Artist.
