T-Pain lets the world know he hopes to take center stage at the Super Bowl one day. The singer/songwriter made a direct plea to the NFL about performing at the big game.
“I do got the hits [man shrugging emoji] @nfl,” T-Pain posted on Instagram on Monday (February 12). He also shared an image of a “what if” poster of him headlining the highly sought-after gig.
Additionally, Pain posted a tweet of an X user expressing interest in seeing the “Rappa Ternt Sanga” on the NFL platform. The Tallahassee native also uploaded a clip of himself speaking with former NFL player-turned-broadcaster Shannon Sharpe.
In the video, Shannon Sharpe asked T-Pain about potentially doing the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The “Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin’)” hitmaker replied, “Absolutely, why would I not do that?”
In addition to his “Buy U a Drank” single, T-Pain’s catalog includes over a dozen other Top 10 records. Tracks such as “I’m Sprung,” “I’m ‘n Luv (Wit a Stripper),” “Bartender” and “Can’t Believe It” achieved commercial success too.
The Auto-Tune pioneer also featured on popular songs by Flo Rida, Pitbull, Lil Wayne, Jamie Foxx, Chris Brown, DJ Khaled and Plies. Since his breakout year in 2005, Pain has totaled 48 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Usher headlined the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show in Nevada on Sunday (February 11). The R&B/pop legend tapped Alicia Keys, Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R., will.i.am, Lil Jon and Ludacris as special guests for the performance.
