Twista has confirmed plans to reunite with producer Traxster on the Chicago emcee’s forthcoming solo album.
Traxster executive produced Twista’s 1997 LP Adrenaline Rush, the rapper’s first gold project and one many critics and fans still consider his best work.
For his new album Category F5, Twista is confident they can recapture the early Chicago sound that raised both of them to stardom.
“Me and Trax can just go in and we got that vibe,” Twista explained to AllHipHop.com in a statement. “When we work together we take it back to that old Chicago style that we kicked it on Adrenaline Rush. Everybody is gonna definitely like what Trax is bringing to the album.”
The duo’s first offering is the song “Wetter (Get It Wet Pt. 2),” which may serve as the album’s first single.
Although Traxster won’t handle executive producer duties for Category F5, the LP will boast additional production from Jim Jonsin (Whatever You Like,” Lollipop”), the Tastemakers, and Twista’s own production team of Cuzo and Toxic.
“This album is gonna have a little bit for everyone,” Twista elaborated. “I’m brining the Traxster joints like ‘Wetter’ for the Adrenaline Rush fans and got some tracks to give all the newer sounds that Twista flavor for the newer generation.”
At press time, Twista’s seventh solo album Category F5 is tentatively scheduled for a Spring 2009 release.
