While actor/rapper Tyrese Gibson is gaining massive commercial success on the silver screen because of a high profile role in the hit movie Transformers, the budding music mogul continues to build his Headquarter Entertainment, signing rock/Hip-Hop group Life Nine to his HQ Recordings imprint.
Gibson, who stars as USAF Tech Sergeant Epps in Transformers, signed the five-piece band that considers themselves “Rock-N-Hop” music.
The group consists of lead rapper Stix, lead singer Jason Ryterband, Rob Josefsson, Jesse Josefsson and DJ Hapa.
“After I heard the song “Take Me There”, I knew that I had the opportunity to be an integral part of something special, I am truly excited about the undeniable potential of Life Nine,” said Tyrese Gibson, CEO of Headquarter Entertainment, which in addition to Gibson’s record label, also houses his HQ Pictures and HQ Artworks business ventures.
Life Nine is currently working on their self-titled debut album, which is slated to hit stores this year.
