Uber Facing Backlash Against Excessive Fare Surges

A NYC COUNCILMAN IS TRYING TO PASS LEGISLATURE TO COMBAT COSTLY UBER FEES

After receiving an “F” rating from the Better Business Bureau, New York City Councilman David G. Greenfield is joining the fight against Uber’s now infamous fare spikes, which recently came under fire after many patrons complained of extraordinarily high fees during the holiday season.

Looking to put an end to sky high fares, Greenfield is proposing a cap on price surges explaining “We love Uber, we just hate price gouging… As New Yorkers, we live and die by the rule that we do not want to be ripped off.” He added, “Many of our cabbies are immigrants who are being punished by a $40 billion corporation. It’s quashing the American dream here in New York City.
