The economic crisis continues to affect various entertainers, as rapper Xzibit is the latest celebrity whose home is facing foreclosure.
According to TMZ.com, the West coast rapper owes over $21,000 in back mortgage payments, with foreclosure on his Woodland Hills, California home looming on the horizon.
Last week it was revealed that Xzbit owed the cash-strapped state of California $205,485 for unpaid taxes in 2007 and another $296,355 for taxes unpaid in 2006.
Xzibit joins a long list of entertainers, like T-Boz, Doug E. Fresh, Method Man, Fantasia Barrino, Dionne Warwick and comedian Sinbad, who have all run into financial difficulties.
Just today (April 24), it was learned that even chart-topping rapper Snoop Dogg was behind on his taxes.
Snoop, who is planning to hit the road for the “Blazed and Confused” tour in July with Stoopid and Stephen Marley, currently owes California $284,053 in back taxes.
Xzbit and Snoop Dogg are not alone in the financial crisis.
California is one of four U.S. states with the worst foreclosure problem in the country due to the economic down-turn, the worst since the 1930’s.
California, Nevada, Florida and Arizona have the highest rate of foreclosures.
Troubled areas in California include Modesto, Bakersfield, Riverside, Stockton and Vallejo-Fairfield.
Over 800,000 homes have received at least one foreclosure notice since January.
Later this month, Xzibit will also take to the road on the Euro-Dollar European Tour.
