(AllHipHop News) Rapper Yo Gotti recently detailed the influence Cash Money Records’ Co-CEO’s Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams had on his career in the latest episode of his YouTube series “60 Seconds With Gotti.”
In the clip, Yo Gotti explained how he learned about the music business from some of the biggest names in the culture. In addition to Birdman and Slim, the Memphis rapper soaked up advice from other entrepreneurs, including Jay Z, Master P, and J. Prince.
Yo Gotti explained how he looked up to these business masterminds more so than rappers, a habit that helped him launch several successful businesses, including his label Collective Music Group (aka Cocaine Music Group) and the Memphis restaurant, Privé.
But it was Birdman and Slim who received the most praise from Yo Gotti.
“When I first met Birdman and Slim, they were the first n###as like that I was able to be around, and ask them questions and chop it up with them about the game and life period,” Yo Gotti said. “So, I feel like them n###as gave me a lot of game and motivated to do this s##t.”
Yo Gotti also said that Cash Money Records’ CEO’s advice inspired him to eventually discover new artists like Blac Youngsta, Wave Chapelle and Snootie Wild.
“I try to give them n###a’s the same motivation that Stunna gave me. One of them gonna be the n###a who gonna get some money…,” Yo Gotti said.
