Young Thug Recalls Awkward Interaction With Lil Wayne: He Left My Pimpin’ Hanging

Gillie Da King speaks with the southern about the formation of Rich Gang.

Young Thug rarely does interviews, but when he does, the Atlanta-bred rhymer typically makes headlines. Clips from Thugger’s interview with the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast is making the rounds on social media because of his comments about Lil Wayne.

There is a long, complicated history between Thug and Wayne that includes Thugger’s associate, Jimmy “Peewee Roscoe” Winfrey, being accused of shooting at Wayne’s tour bus. There were issues between the two camps over Cash Money head Birdman’s embrace of Thug which was viewed by some as a slight towards Wayne, a longtime Cash Money artist.

During the sitdown with Gillie Da King and Wallo, Young Thug spoke about meeting Wayne for the first time when the Rich Gang supergroup was first taking off as a collective. It appears the encounter was not very friendly, according to the So Much Fun album creator.

“The first day that n#### didn’t dap me up,” said Thug. “Tried me. N####, tried my pimping. Now my feet hurt. N####, I’m a real stepper. N#### left my pimping hanging… He probably had them chrome hearts on.”

This is the second time in recent weeks that Young Thug recalled his interaction with a Hip Hop legend that supposedly did not go the way he had expected. Thugger was heavily criticized for saying fellow Atlanta rap star André 3000 of OutKast “like his ass kissed” in order to record a collaborative record.
