On Comedy Central’s roast of Justin Bieber last night, he appeared humble and apologetic about his behavior in the past. He seems to have a new outlook on his young life and career and has recently revealed that he had to rework his new album because of it. Kanye West and Rick Rubin have reportedly been a part of this process.
“I’m finishing up the album now, working with Kanye and Rick,” the 21-year-old told USA Today. “I’m not rushing it, I’ll just wait until it’s totally done.” He continued, “[The album] was done but it didn’t match up to where I am now and where my head’s at,” he said. “I want to tell my story, but I also want to give people hope. I lost hope for a while, I was in a dark place, but it’s about getting out of that rut. It’s about knowing there’s sunshine on the other side.”
Biebs says he is going to blow fans away with his level of maturity on this album.
“I don’t want to say “it’s different,” because that’s what everyone says. But it is different, it’s a grown-up version of Justin and I think people will be shocked.”

Jay Z is heading to trial to prove that he rightfully used an Egyptian sample for his 2000 hit “Big Pimpin.”
Eight years ago, Jay was hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit for using a sample from a 1960 song called “Khosara Khosara” for his UGK-assisted track. The producer, Timbaland, was given the license to use the song by EMI Arabia. The song was composed by Baligh Hamdy and his heir, Osama Ahmed Fahmy who filed the lawsuit, is claiming that EMI Arabia never had the rights to license the song to anyone.
Fahmy says that he gave the Egyptian record company Sout El Phan the right to license the song to companies like EMI Arabia but they could not license the song to anyone else without permission.
The trial is slated to begin on Oct. 13th. MTV, Timbaland, Universal Music Group and Paramount Pictures are co-defendants in the lawsuit.

The man, Christian Englander, was then apprehended by Santa Fe police and charged with battery and disorderly conduct. Englander was reportedly visibly intoxicated and admitted to hitting Chappelle with the banana peel in the leg.
TMZ reports that it was a “racist” attack yet there was no mention of any racist slurs or phrases being mentioned.
Chappelle was a trooper though and used the incident as impromptu material during his set.
