Mixtape Download: Black Liquid “Title”

Regarded as one of the “Kings of his City,” Richmond, Virginia, Black Liquid has released his 17th project exclusively for free on NoiseTrade.  The concept is simple:  take the “heavy with mood” instrumentation of songstress Fiona Apple and multiply it by the introspective truth and story of a man who has seen his dreams meet reality through his journey as an independent Hip-Hop artist in the extraordinary machine that is the music business.

Having shared the stage with the legends he grew up listening to such as DMX, Snoop Dogg, Inspectah Deck, Bone Thugs, Immortal Technique, and Fabolous, Black Liquid holds himself to the highest of standards, in hopes that the listener will too.

Logic Talks Being Biracial, His Reaction To Lupe Fiasco Saying He Was Better Than Kendrick Lamar And More

Def Jam’s newest signee Logic made his first visit to the Breakfast Club and touched on how he plans to solidify his place in the rap game. Between taking advice from Charlemagne about not saying he is one of the greatest rappers and growing up in poverty, the Maryland native talked about getting signed to Def Jam and the reaction he had when Lupe Fiasco said he was better than Kendrick Lamar.

GETTING SIGNED TO DEF JAM BY NO I.D

“When I sat down with No I.D it was easy. Not only is he a legend and an incredible producer, musician and artist but he is now an executive at Def Jam. So for me he understood both sides of what I wanted to achieve…Thankfully that man changed my life. He gave me the deal I wanted.”

HIS REACTION TO LUPE FIASCO SAYING HE WAS BETTER THAN KENDRICK LAMAR

“I had never met him. Excluding what he said about Kendrick and just being noticed in general I thought it was great. There’s a lot of artists that I have looked up to when it comes to their talent and what they’ve done and I believe that now I’m kind of on their radar. It’s amazing.”

Exclusive: Chief Keef Dropped By Interscope Records

(AllHipHop News Exclusive) Rapper Chief Keef has been quietly dropped from Interscope Records.

The separation occurred about two weeks ago, a source said.

Earlier this year, matters began to sour with Chief Keef, his camp and the bosses at Interscope. Our source maintains Interscope began to “subtly disassociate” itself from the 19-year-old rapper after he had a series of legal cases sprout up in 2013 and 2014, ranging from lawsuits to drug offenses. He also went into rehab for an addiction to lean, an illegal drink that mixes promethazine and codeine. A March 2014 shoot out in Chicago, which authorities linked Keef to, allegedly further damaged the relationship with Interscope.

After that, the Chicago rapper relocated to Los Angeles in a new mansion this past summer in an effort to change the energy surrounding his life. The move not only got him away from his troubled roots in Chicago, but much closer to his label. This is where sources say the tension intensified.

“Keef and his people tried to keep the label accountable (once Keef moved to Los Angeles) but Interscope didn’t seem interested in dropping a new album. Keef’s team tried to have formal meetings but nothing moved,” an anonymouse source told AllHipHop. Additionally, there was some left over bad blood stemming from how Chief Keef’s first album was marketed and promoted.

Insiders say friction intensified until there were arguments with higher-ups in Interscope over how Keef’s career was being handled. Shortly thereafter, Keef was quietly released from his contract, sources said.

Furthermore, Keef has a new album that will probably be put out next year through his own imprint label Glory Boyz Entertainment.

Chief Keef was signed to Interscope Records in 2012 and in December released his first commercial album, Finally Rich. The album only pushed about 50,000 units even though Keef’s persona, public awareness and popularity would seem to warrant more sales. Today, Finally Rich still has not moved over 200,000 copies.

Representatives for Interscope Records were not immediately available to comment.

UPDATE: Chief Keef has confirmed he was dropped.

Ebola Patient Released From Emory University Hospital

There are more Ebola patients in the U.S. than we think. Turns out that there was one at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA that wanted to remain anonymous. The man, who was admitted to Emory on Sept. 9th after contracting the virus in West Africa, was released from the hospital on Oct. 19th after being determined Ebola-free, USA Today reports. No information has been released about the man but he is expected to issue a statement soon.

The first person to be diagnosed with Ebola outside of the U.S. has also been determined cured. The Spanish nurse in Madrid, whose name still hasn’t been released, that contracted Ebola after caring for a priest who was infected has been released from care.

One of the two Dallas nurses who caught the virus while caring for Thomas Eric Duncan, Amber Vinson, is still receiving care at Emory. It  became the first hospital to treat American Ebola victims this summer when care was provided to Dr. Kent Brantly and missionary Nancy Writebol.

Revolt TV Kicks Off Inaugural Music Conference in Miami

REVOLT TV rocked out their inaugural music conference this past weekend at the Fountaine Bleau hotel in Miami Beach. This special occasion also marked REVOLT TV’s one year on-air anniversary. With opening remarks from CEO Keith Clinkscales and Vice-Chair Andre Harrell, Friday featured rousing keynote addresses by Guy Oseary (Manager and Founder of Maverick) and Bob Pittman (Chairman and CEO of IHeartMedia) and a full day of panels, performances (Flo Rida, Jhene Aiko, and SZA) and parties. One of the most memorable panels was the “Congress Of Music” Panel with Timbaland, Jermaine Durpri, The Game, and ASTR. The panel talked about music trends, producers using the same drums, politics in the music business, and what they had endure to make it.

REVOLT Chairman Sean “Diddy” Combs joined in on the fun by sitting in the audience for a few panels, including the “Disruptors: The Future of Business” discussion where he engaged panelists Rio Caraeff (President & CEO of Vevo), Kevin McGurn (Chief Revenue Officer of Shazam), Britt Morgan-Saks (Artist Services at Spotify), Alex Ljung (CEO of SoundCloud) and Lars Murray (VP of Music Industry Relations at Pandora) and moderator Kenna about the future of the record business. Music industry titans like LA Reid, DJ Khaled and Daniel Glass determined that A&R is not dead after all.

Saturday kicked off with some inspiration from Russell Simmons as he led a sold out crowd in meditation as Saturday’s lead keynote speaker. Simmons talked about his book Success Through Stillness and stressed the point that there is no one way or right way to obtain success. He encouraged the young group of budding entrepreneurs to stay hungry and appreciate the power of managing one’s mind. Day Two panels featured some of the biggest titans of their perspective industries including Frank Cooper (CMO of Pepsico) and Marc Ecko (Founder & Chief Brand Officer of Complex Media) discussing “The New Deal: Brands and Artists” and legendary music producers Dallas Austin and Rodney Jerkins debating “The Business of Music Publishing” with singer-songwriter James Fauntleroy and Jessica Rivera (SVP, Head of East Coast Operations of Universal Music Publishing).

One of the biggest highlights of day two had to be REVOLT founder Sean “Diddy” Combs’ rousing keynote address entitled “#AskDiddy”. Attendees RAN into the Glimmer Ballroom as soon as the doors were opened to hear Diddy offer invaluable career insight and advice to a packed out crowd. The Revolt Music Conference weekend ended in an iconic way with Diddy presenting his good friend and iconic industry veteran executive Jimmy Iovine with an award for his illustrious forty year career. The gala began with a performance from Ne-Yo and moved to Diddy discussing Iovine’s musical contributions. A video presentation was also shown featuring artists from some of the over 250 albums that Iovine has contributed production too. Iovine then gave an engaging speech about the current state of music and the industry’s ever-changing landscape. Diddy presented Iovine with the “Started From The Bottom Now We Here” Award, and Iovine came to the podium to Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg’s “Nuthin But A G Thang”. Attendees spilled onto the patio to do their last bit of networking and head, in their cocktail attire, to LIV, the official nightclub of the Revolt Music Conference.

Busta Rhymes, The Game, Timbaland, Jim Jones, Jermaine Dupri, Trina, Mase, French Montana and more also came out to show their support. Revolt’s inaugural music conference was a success: networking, knowledge, and fun in the sun.

Check out more photos from the conference below. Photos by Eitan Miskevich, Marc Serota/Invision for REVOLT, and Jeff Daily/Invision for REVOLT.

Three Questions With Denzel Curry

South Florida native Denzel Curry has been crisscrossing the nation on his “Bow Down” tour with North Carolina’s Deniro Farrar. After stops in Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, Seattle, and other cities, the duo will be rolling into New York City this week as part of the CMJ Music Marathon.

Before the two rising southern rappers hit the Big Apple, AllHipHop.com caught up with Curry for our “Three Questions” feature. The creator of 2013’s Nostalgic 64 reflects on a memorable moment from his childhood and shares thoughts on his female counterparts Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, and Diamond.

What is your favorite childhood memory?

Getting an Xbox. The very first Xbox I got around Christmas. Everybody had Playstation 2s. We didn’t. We were stuck with the old game systems like PS1 and N64. But the fact that we got a new system that year was mind-blowing, because everyone was getting GameCubes.

If you had to be trapped in any TV show for a month, which one would you choose?

I would be trapped in Adventure Time, because the story behind that is so crazy. Everything starts off so random, but when you continue watching the episode you see how everything’s connected. I’d definitely be on there.

F**k, Marry, Collab: Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Diamond?

I would f**k Nicki. Probably collab with Diamond from Crime Mob, and marry Iggy Azalea. I think Diamond is raw. Don’t get me wrong, Iggy and Nicki do their thing, but I haven’t seen Diamond in a minute. If she were to come out with some new s**t, and it’s as hard as “Knuck If You Buck” – hell yeah, I’d collab with Diamond.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Looks Like Nicki Minaj Is Single!

Nicki Minaj’s guy Safaree has been her man for about 30 years or something…lol. Nah, 10. But it seems like that situation has run its course for real. Anyway, TMZ has revealed that the dude had now covered up his Nicki Minaj tats. The longterm boyfriend has now given clear-cut reasoning that he and she are no longer an item. He could have just kept them and been her ultimate fan. Now, he’s like 50 Cent’s son – no inheritance! Sheeesh…you can’t go around losing lottery tickets like that mannnnnnnnn….

Here are the images from TMZ:

If Nicki Minaj and her boyfriend are still together, then he’s got a weird way of showing the love … having 2 of his 3 Nicki tats covered up with new ink.
Check out the pics for yourself … Safaree Samuels had some work done on his chest — though it’s unclear when — and he clearly covered up Nicki’s name/mug.

Not only that, but his forearm ink looks drastically faded as well.

Neither have commented on rumors of their breakup, but Nicki definitely hinted at one back in May when she tweeted SINGLE N READY TO MINGLE.

At the time, sources told us it was just a temporary argument and that the 2 were still together.

But healthy couples don’t typically deface their better half’s face, do they?

Man, love hurts.
