(AllHipHop News) The latest round of the media back-and-forth between RZA and Raekwon, comes in an interview with Hot 97. During the Q&A, RZA says the issue over whether Rae will appear on the upcoming Wu-Tang Clan album A Better Tomorrow is the result of a lack of communication.

“What we’re not doing though, as brother and as business brothers, is putting time together,” said RZA. “I got to read about how he feels. He got to read about how I feel.”

RZA also addresses Raekwon calling him a liar in a recent Rolling Stone article.

“I don’t need to lie,” stated RZA. “I did an interview a few weeks ago that just came out later. I guess when it came out he read it then. I spoke to Raekwon about eight days ago, but the interview was probably fourteen or sixteen days ago… I hadn’t spoken to him in six months until recently.”

Mimi Faust and the Pseudo-Righteousness of Hip-Hop

Every hip-hop head and their mama has something (negative) to say about Mimi Faust and her right to enter the world of p###—even Steve Harvey’s rich ass! Sure, it’s easy to “go in” on this woman for doing a pr0n video. (Just so you know–I’ve already made my pr0n video—to be “leaked” the week after I get on one of these reality shows! I’m-a show ’em how a crusty ol’ dude puts it down. I have 216 millimeters of phallus I’d like to share with the world! B### bag recommended.)

Of course it is! I could write a blog and blast her to smithereens, but that would be cliché-ish for a C.O.O.N. like me! I have to write against the grain. I could write every manner of evil and call her a s###, trick, hoe, skeezer, prostitute and c##-dumpster, but I wouldn’t be true to myself as a deep thinker and a compassionate person, who views all women (no matter how far they’ve fallen off the wagon) as the “Mother of All Living”—God’s procreative instrument and the first teachers of our children. So I’ll let the herd talk that nastiness about this woman.

Indeed, hip-hop heads are goin’ in on Mimi and they have every right, since she’s put her life out here for public consumption and scrutiny. And yes! She’s said things and carried herself like she was above the fray of ratchetness on her show, (You think Joseline ain’t havin’ a field-day dissin’ her now?) “Love & Hip-Hop.” But there is a saying; “It’s woman’s prerogative to change her mind.” We all change our minds about certain things! And if five million dollars (the amount Mimi allegedly made) were dangled in front of you—dare I say that many of us would assume the position—face down, ass up? I think we are being hypocritical—even more hypocritical than Mimi’s prior rants on womanness.

But now, let me get to where I’m going. If you notice, little is being said about Nikko, her on-screen lover paramour. All the hate, all the angst, and all the name-calling is being directed at poor Mimi. We are judging Mimi and saying nadda about Nikko. Yes! We are sexist! Mimi is the w#### and Nikko is a stud, playa, pimp, paramour—the envy of many-a-man! In hip-hop’s pseudo-righteous mind, someone’s daughter is getting slutted-out, while someone’s son is receiving congratulatory high-fives from friends and family alike. #DoubleStandard

Let’s kick da ballistics! P### is supported mostly by men! Men are its major consumers and hip-hop and p### have always had a cozy relationship. Most of us watch p###, make p### videos, and watch rap videos with the thirstiness of a camel on the desert for 30 fortnights (one fortnight= 2 weeks)! And most of you Negro males got hella p### saved on your computer or phone—and beez hiding it from girlfriends and spouses alike.

But what I really abhor with major loathing is the commentary being spewed on these Internets of a pseudo (false)-religious nature. Starting with Steve Harvey’s commentary, which has been echoed by the most non-going-to-church-not-knowing-a-damned-thang-about-the-Bible folk! I don’t subscribe to any of that religious mumbo-jumbo with regards to sex, nudity, fornication—f######! Like Steve Harvey, whose commentary is rooted in his religious views of sex as “dirty,” “nasty,” “shameful,” and “secretive”—you diss Mimi because you have similar religiously constructed views of sex. So what? She had sex on camera for five million dollars! Take away the pseudo-religious posturing and you have a woman who has set herself and child up for life! But I hear you! “She sold her soul to the devil!” And just how much is the price of a soul going for these days? Listen to yourselves, you ig-nant mythology-believing devil believers! (I’ll kick the “devil” in his ass and dare him to burn me!) I hear you! “Wait until her child hears about the video or sees the video!” Really? Does your child know all the dirt that you’ve done or will do?

I’ll tell you a secret! When my children were young (they’s grown now) they snuck into daddy’s treasure-trove of p### and found a video of daddy boinking the hell out of some white chick! This, they revealed to me once they became adults! Ewwwww! They saw daddy’s hang-low plowing p####### from here to Timbuktu! But did it scar them for life? Did they have “issues” with me or their own sexuality as they grew up? No! From what they tell me, they had a good laugh and said daddy beez “workin’ it out!” (So put your p### in the most secretive of places ‘cause kids beez snooping around when you ain’t home!) If only I would’ve received five million dollars for screwing that white chick! But no! All I got was five million reasons to kick her to the curb!

Point being? When that day comes for Mimi’s child to understand what mama did she’ll be okay. Not only will she be okay, but she will defend her mother from the likes of you hating-ass Negroes that would call her mother out of her name!

Would I take this stance if it were any of my daughters doing a p### video? Absolutely! I actually happen to have two daughters that are “Urban Models” and are/were strippers, so my heart has long been tested in the area of knowing that my seeds are in the adult sex industry. (And BTW, they are high-school graduates, working on degrees and have a great relationship with me, their father.) It just happens that their father (me!) is well-educated and understands the religio-sexual nature of the society in which we live and does not buy into its false notions of sex as “nasty” and women as “w#####” who choose to express their sexuality through this artistic genre. I’m too well-informed to go ape-s### over the beauty of the nude human body! From the get-go it has been written that God made a nude Adam & Eve and when He/She finished His/Her works the Bible commentators wrote that He said it was, “Good, very good!” (Genesis 1:31) So how does nudity go from that to being ugly and nasty and secretive?

Unlike Laurence Fishburne, whose daughter decided to give p### a whirl and he publicly disowned her—I’m far too liberal to turn my back on my (adult) children during the growing pains (and pangs) of their lives.

Sex is beautiful—and at one point in human history sex was the highest form of devotion to the Deity (God). Men made sex dirty and shameful through religion and this is the root of your disdain for Mimi’s decision to do p###. I don’t buy Christianity’s religion’s dark-horse understanding of the beautiful act of sex that was once so sacred.

Mimi Faust isn’t a w####! Mimi Faust isn’t a s###. She’s simply a woman who has chosen to parlay her hip-hop notoriety into a lifetime of financial security. If anything, Mimi is hip-hop’s equivalent of “Sula”—revisited!—Toni Morrison’s character that followed a similar path to save her town—a people that were dying from boredom, because they led mundane lives. Sula gave hope to a people who had nothing to live for by having sex with guys around town and though people had no computers to troll, she simply allowed her sexual escapades to be known, which gave her town something to gossip about. Sula played the role of the w#### to save people! She w##### herself out to these people who had never found their own “Raison d’être” (reason for existence). Without Sula, they were dead! And like the townspeople of Sula, many of you troll these Internets for stories that give your own lives meaning and some of you live vicariously through your perceived fuckery of people like Mimi. Mimi has more balls, yea, more smarts—Doff! More freedom to not give a damn what people think of her than the “sheeple” that follow her every movement!

Mimi is no w####! Yea! We are the w#####, because it is us (men) who will buy her video or bootleg it and catch many-a nut off this woman’s life. We are the voyeuristic w##### who hide in cyberspace and name-call and then go to church and point fingers at those whom we believe God has not saved yet, but I have news for you, you ol’ pseudo-righteous religious poser—and that is, the so-called w####? The prostitute?—the Mimis and Kim Ks of the world—that neighborhood female crack-head whose selling her stank-box to support her habit? Jesus had compassion for the likes of these women and said this; “Verily [truly] I say unto you, that the publicans [gang bangers] and the harlots [prostitutes] go into the kingdom of God before you” (Matthew 21:31). (I bet you never read this scripture!)

The woman that you rap about not kissing in the mouf—Jesus says they have a seat in the kingdom, because somehow, some way, there is redemption for the dregs of society.

At-the-end-of-the-day Mimi will land on her feet “perpendicular to the square” (upright) and live out the meaning unto which she was called. Mimi’s life will teach some of us something—if nothing more than perseverance, long-suffering, non-judgment, compassion and empathy. Mimi will be all right, so respect her when you see her in the street. Respect her because everyone deserves respect at whatever plain they are on in this physical realm. The Universe requires that! That. Is. All.

Engineer Requests $100,000 for Jay Z Master Recording Tapes, Just Blaze Responds

(AllHipHop News) Jay Z owns his own master recordings of all of his albums, legally. However, an opportunistic former engineer of his, Chauncey Mahan has attempted to obtain $100,000 in exchange for master recording tapes of Jay Z songs from 1998-2002.

Mahan had possession of the tapes for over a decade in a Northridge, California storage facility. This past Friday (April 18th), Mahan contacted Live Nation requesting the $100,000 as a “storage fee” for the recordings. Live Nation arranged the meeting and then informed the Los Angeles Police Department of Mahan’s actions.

Mahan was not arrested but was detained and taking in for questioning. Reportedly Live Nation filed a grand larceny complaint against Mahan since the master recordings went missing in 2002.

Mahan is credited for engineering on albums for Terror Squad, Beanie Sigel, 112 and others over a 15 year span. Hours after the news of Mahan’s alleged extortion, frequent Jay Z collaborator, Just Blaze shed light on Mahan’s relationship with Jay.

On his personal Twitter account, Just Blaze spoke on Mahan’s ineptitude as a producer, most notably on Jay Z’s The Dynasty album:

Mahan’s engineering credits on solo Jay Z albums stop at The Dynasty album. According to Blaze, even though all of Mahan’s inadequacies, the alleged extortionist was the main reason Jay Z linked up with his longtime engineer he works with now:

Hip Hop Rumors: Karrine Steffans is Mentoring Montana Fishbourne

We all remember when Laurence Fishburne’s daughter Montana decided to bring shame to the last name back in 2010 by launching her career as an adult film star.

Apparently, she’s turning her life around with the help of video vixen turn p### star turn bestselling author Karrine “Superhead” Steffans.

Steffans told Alist.com that she’s helping to rebuild Fishburne’s self-esteem and giving her a second chance by hiring her as a contributing writer for Steffans’ fitness site, I Am So Fn Gorgeous.

“It may seem like a stretch to you but physical fitness and health are major parts of Montana’s life. The kid knows her stuff! Now, is she bat s—t crazy otherwise? Maybe. But we’re not here for her life advice; we’re here for toned abs and an ass that won’t quit,” Steffans shared.

I can’t speak for everybody else, but ain’t no coming back from bustin’ it wide open for Brian Pumper and we for damn sure won’t be able to erase your leopard prints from our mind.

Hip Hop Rumors: Did Drake Clown Jay-Z?

Weezy F. aint the only Cash Money Millionaire that’s got beef with Hov.

Last month, Hov stepped to the mic on Jay Elctronica’s ‘We Made It’ freestyle and checked Drake for taking shots at him in Rolling Stone magazine, which he stated Jay was “rapping about art too much.”

Now we all know how Drizzy gets in his lil feelins’, and this past weekend he decided to shoot back during the Toronto Raptors vs. Brooklyn Nets game.

Joey Bada$$ Disses XXL On Twitter Over Article Title

(AllHipHop News) This time last year, Joey Bada$$ was being inducted in XXL’s 2013 Freshman class. A lot has changed in a year. Earlier today, the young Brooklyn MC derided XXL over the title of their interview with Joey.

Earlier today, XXL posted an interview with Joey and originally titled the article “Joey Badass Wants To Channel The Energy Of Nas, Jay-Z And Big L On New Album”. The article title has since been changed, but not before Pro Era’s captain could give their staff a piece of his mind on his personal Twitter account:

Screenshot 2014-04-21 13.52.47Screenshot 2014-04-21 13.52.31Screenshot 2014-04-21 13.52.36

XXL is not the first rap outlet criticized by Joey for pigeonholing him in the “90’s era box”. In an interview with HipHopDX last October, Joey stated that the interviewer and other media outlets’ pigeonholing him is what causes new fans to shy away from his new music:

What it really is, is that the more you guys do that, the more people turn away from it, ‘cause they just easily perceive it as that. This is fresh new music. From 2012, 2011, and now 2013.

Joey Bada$$’s debut album, B4.DA.$$ (Before The Money) is expected to be released this Fall.

5 & Done: Franc Grams

Background Franc Grams is an emcee from Connecticut who is making a big impact in the independent music world and beyond. His music has been featured on TheSource.com, Complex.com, 2DopeBoyz.com and much more. Franc Grams has performed on stages across the country including at the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas. His critically acclaimed album “Let’s Start Over” debuted to much fan fare.

AllHipHop.com: What’s Good Franc Grams? Firstly, What is the significance of your name?

Franc Grams: Everything about my name is symbolic… I’m big on speakings things into existence and then watching that manifest in front of me. My born name is Frank, changing Frank to Franc (the currency) was symbolic of me turning my name into money… Just the symbolic version of what’s about to happen with my net worth lol. Long story short “Grams” is symbolic of the hustle… Whether the music industry or streets/drug trade, it is still Grams being sold. Me being the product, music being my hustle.

What single or project are you currently pushing?

Franc Grams: I just released my first debut LP “Let’s Start Over”. In this project I reach back to the roots… I strayed a little, and the true essence of what I came here to do came up absent in some of the records I’ve released… You know, playing the game, doing what I felt was necessary to get ahead, get my foot in the door, in attempts to then bring forth what it is that I set out to contribute to music… this era… history… the culture…

Who does your production?

Franc Grams: I work closely and consistently with Lando Beats & Smoke The World. Me & Lando have a long history of work, and he’s on one of my upcoming projects pretty heavy, and Smoke The World was the first producer I’ve ever worked with, stemming back to me being in high school… On my most recent project, the “Let’s Start Over” album (February 23rd 2014) I reached back out to Smoke The World, and he produced every record on the project.

If you can change one thing about the music industry what would it be and why?

Franc Grams: Things would be about talent… A&R’s would be people with great ears for talent that go out and bring back what they believe in… With the labels trusting their hired A&R’s, they would develop and “gamble” on these acts to some extent. At the moment, talent doesn’t seem to be the focus. Correct me if I’m wrong, but labels only want to deal with something that is already tested and proven, an artist with tens of thousands of dollars invested, that already have major followings… Basically something that they see cannot lose, because the act is already standing on their own too feet… I mean, don’t get me wrong, my team is great, and the money and belief is there, so this is going to happen as we planned it to in time…… But how about the musical genius without the access to the dollars he needs to EVER be discovered… It’s disheartening that me OR YOU will never hear about them.

Any final words for the people.

Franc Grams: Go for yours… You get one shot at this whole living process, make it what you wish it will be. People will preach to us all our lives to take the safe route and tell us what isn’t realistic, have you feeling as if you are less capable then any other man that walked this world, but if it can be done it can be done again… We have the opportunity to watch what the people before us did, and take it much farther… We seen what they all did, we don’t have to submit to being anything less, or even accept where others set the bar at as the limit. Set your bar as high as you wish, only you can limit yourself. Check me out on www.FrancGrams.com

YG: Me, DJ Mustard and Ty Dolla $ign Formed Our Own Record Label (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Young artists do not waste no time developing their own form of independence. After the commercial success of YG’s My Krazy Life debut album earlier this year, the West Coast MC revealed that himself and collaborators Ty Dolla $ign and DJ Mustard have formed a label.

During the interview, YG lays out the label plans:

Me, Mustard and Ty got a label. We got a little situation going on. We got a situation that’s about to occur. Pushaz Ink the label. Ty own part of it, Mustard own part of it, I own part of it. So you know it’s about to get real.

The label, Pu$haz Ink was actually formed by Mustard and YG back in 2008 and founded in 2010. YG’s 2010 The Real 4Fingaz mixtape was the label’s first release. My Krazy Life was its first commercial release, in conjunction with Def Jam Records and CTE World.

Ty Dolla $ign is signed to Atlantic Records and Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang Records. YG is signed to Jeezy’s CTE World and Def Jam Records. DJ Mustard is currently signed to Jay Z’s Roc Natoin.
