Barneys Cancels Jay Z Event Originally Planned To Kick Off Partnership

(AllHipHop News) Jay Z may be going ahead with his exclusive apparel line with Barneys New York, but apparently the new partnership is not one for a celebratory party anymore. The Daily News is reporting that the high-end retail store has scrubbed their planned charity event for Jay’s Shawn Carter Foundation.

Barneys issued a statement that read, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the event has been canceled.”

The store came under fire after two separate African American customers accused the retailer of racially profiling them for buying expensive items. Calls for Jay Z to end his ties with Barneys came soon after the news broke, but the Brooklyn mogul announced recently that he will continue on with his holiday collection with 100% of the proceeds now going to his nonprofit organization.

The “Empire State of Mind” rapper also plans to take on leadership role on a council reviewing the customer profiling policies at Barneys.

Rick Ross Says "F*ck XXL" On Big Sean's "10 2 10" Remix

(AllHipHop News) This looks familiar.

Today, Big Sean released the remix to his Hall of Fame track “10 2 10” with new verses from himself as well as Travis Scott and Rick Ross. It is Ross who delivers a moment similar to Kendrick Lamar’s on “Control”, as he takes aim at XXL”:

16s are coke, all my verses be dope/F*ck X-X-L, ’cause I’m The Source to these quotes

While there is no official word on why Ross would have sent such a inflammatory bar, it should be noted that Ross emphasized the letters “X-X-L”. That could be in reference to the L-rating XXL gave to Maybach Music Group’s Self Made Vol. 3 back in September. In addition, Rick Ross has not had a solo cover on XXL since gracing the cover of the July/August 2012 issue.

Eminem Calls "My Name Is" An Anti-Pop Song, Talks Life After Addiction + More (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) The second installment of Zane Lowe and BBC Radio One’s interview with Eminem centers around the rapper’s analysis of his career from the perspective of both a pop icon and a recovering addict.

The first song to put Eminem on the nation’s radar was “My Name Is”, his inaugural single from his 1999 debut album The Slim Shady LP.  While Eminem fully comprehends the humor, he is still dumbfounded at the irony of an “anti-pop song” becoming a hit:

The whole record was tongue and cheek. I’m still doing alot of records like that to this day that are tongue and cheek. You know what I’m saying? But that record in particular was just like…it was almost like my anti-pop song, because it was my hello to the world but was my ‘f*ck you’ to the world at the same time. So I never understood when all that started happening it was like ‘holy sh*t how did that become …I guess a pop song?’

The interview turned somberly reflective for a few minutes as Zane Lowe asked Eminem about his feelings on not joining the list of recently deceased megastars such as Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson:

I’m able to be more focused now than I’ve ever been. But I’m also able to, I guess put it in perspective. But the problem is I can’t put a lot of perspective because I don’t…there was a lot…there was a lot that I don’t remember. Maybe that’s cool too. I don’t know, man. I know that there’s so many addicts in this world, and people who have problems like that that don’t make it. So I’m thankful for that.

EXCLUSIVE: Kool G Rap & Necro Share Their Thoughts On Drake, Big Sean, Lil Wayne & Mainstream Radio

(AllHipHop Features) Kool G Rap and Necro released their new joint LP Once Upon A Crime today. The 18-track album covers the themes of mafia tales, street life, and murder. The duo (known collectively as The Godfathers) also use the project to take a few shots at contemporary rap music like on the track “Heart Attack” where Necro spits “rap is full retards in leotards trying to be hard.”

During a recent interview with AllHipHop, the leader of “Death Rap” expounded on that sentiment and even referred to a couple of young emcees by name.

“I don’t really have a problem with Drake because I understand what he’s doing,” says Necro. “It don’t really affect me, but if people think that’s real Hip Hop then they’re mistaking R&B for Hip Hop. Drake to me is R&B. He’s not Hip Hop.”

Even though he’s not willingly to categorize the Young Money entertainer as Hip Hop, Necro is understanding of Drake’s musical approach. The Brooklyn producer/rapper was less forgiving of G.O.O.D. Music’s Big Sean.

“I don’t hate on [Drake]. There are particular artists I really don’t like. Like Big Sean, he makes me sick,” stated Necro. “Drake, I get what they’re doing, but I don’t think they’re doing anything better than what we do. It is what it is. It’s pop. It’s like a sequined outfit. It’s ‘YMCA’, and we’re Curtis Mayfield.”

Kool G Rap provided his thoughts on mainstream rap and the influence of radio programming on the masses. In his view, the music played over the airwaves is structured to leave people ignorant.

“Statistically the I.Q. level in this country dropped. So that’s either by natural event or done by design. I think it’s done by design,” says G Rap. “Radio is only embracing a certain type of sound. It’s intentional to keep us dumbed down. There are certain elements that don’t want a public capable of critical thinking.”

“Let’s keep it real. Hip Hop when it started came from a certain style of person. Then it went corporate, made a lot of money, and then started losing its soul little by little,” adds Necro. “When it’s corporate you’re going to be told by some dude that don’t know nothing about it that you have to change it. I don’t want that dude’s opinion.”

G Rap and Necro do at the very least respect the artistic perspective and drive of a few major label artists. For G, he recognizes the rappers that are keeping street rap alive, a style he helped establish.

“Rick Ross is still spitting from a street perspective. He might do it over a different kind of track sometimes, but if you listen to what he’s saying he’s talking about the drug game. It’s still that street element,” points out G Rap. “If you listen to Lil Wayne he’s doing the same thing. That particular style hasn’t died unless you’re willingly to say Meek Mill is not relevant. Pusha T is not relevant. Rick Ross is not relevant. Lil Wayne is not relevant.”

Necro may not be a regular listener to Wayne and Cash Money’s music, but he admits that he can’t knock their hustle. As a follower of Hip Hop he acknowledges Wayne’s decade long run in the game.

“I’m not a hater of Lil Wayne, because I’m aware of Wayne’s come up. I’m aware of Wayne starting as a little kid that Baby picked up on the street at like 13. So you’re talking about dude that put in at least a good 10 years,” Necro says. “I respect big time what Cash Money did, because I’m a hustler and those guys are the pinnacle of hustling. I got respect for those dudes. It’s just not like I’m a huge fan of their music, but I’m not a hater of their music either.”

Hip-Hop Rumos: Does Tara Want to Work Things Out With Peter Gunz?

It seems like Tara might still want to reconcile with Peter Gunz, even after all the drama he put her through. For those who don’t know, Peter Gunz was living with Tara under the guise of being in a 13 year relationship (they also have two sons) but he dipped out on her and married the mistress. Ish hit the fan once that discovery was made and Tara flipped all the way out. She destroyed Peter Gunz prized possessions from his drum set to clothes to his guitar but she might not be as done with him as she appeared.

In a recent interview with Streetz 94.5 she said she blacked out and didn’t even realize what she had done to Peter’s possessions but then she started copping pleas about wanting their relationship to work.

“Peter and I, we have two children. So, there’s always going to be a bond. It is hard to give up 13 years,” she said. “However, you still want to try to work on something, maybe we can build something still, maybe we can make this work.”

It sounds like she’s still holding out hope for a future with Peter, even though he has repeated this type of behavior off and on over the course of their relationship.

“As far as I know, they’re still married. I try not to ask too many questions,” she said. “I may get angry and pop him upside the head up in here.”

Wow. Some people are gluttons for punishment.

You don’t like it? Suck a c*ck! Almost forgot
Before I signed with the Doc, I almost signed with Duck Down.-Eminem on “Don’t Front”

(AllHipHop News) When Eminem’s “Don’t Front” surfaced on the Call of Duty bonus track of The Marshall Mathers LP 2, the hip hop world went nuts when he revealed that “almost signed with Duck Down. The founder/CEO of Duck Down Records, Dru Ha spoke EXCLUSIVELY with AllHipHop at last night’s Global Spin Awards about the mention in Eminem’s song as well as revealed his own personal past as a DJ.

A little known fact is that Dru Ha used to be a DJ back in the days and according to him, the hardest part was just getting the equipment to work:

I DJ’ed when I was in grade school. Well, not grade school but Junior High, high school and a little bit in college. I was always trying to get the equipment to work right. Back then you had to set everything up. Doing house parties and things like that, you didn’t just come out and the system was already there. So my earliest memories are trying to make sure everything worked right.

Check out what Dru Ha had to say about Eminem mentioning Buckshot, himself and Duck Down in “Don’t Front” for the first time below:

Hip-Hop Rumors: Porsha Stewart Gives Cynthia Bailey Marriage Advice?

Porsha Stewart isn’t always the brightest bulb in the box but every now and then she pops up with a statement that actually makes sense. This season on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Cynthia Bailey and her husband Peter Thomas are going through some marital rough patches primarily because of finances (Peter’s Bar One property faces foreclosure but Cynthia’s money is also tied into the business) and it’s stressing the couple out.

Porsha, stepped forward to offer Bailey some advice for how to deal with the situation in a recent interview with Radar Online. Her most important point is that they should get a financial adviser.

“Get someone else who is handling her finances and someone separate for his finances because she needs to have someone to say no if he wants to pull money and she’s not aware of that.”

According to Porsha, if Bailey had a financial advisor in the first place, Cynthia would have known that Thomas used her money to purchase the Bar One property and would be aware of their financial situation sooner.

“If you had a financial advisor, she would have known that he took money to buy a property,” Stewart said. “That’s ridiculous.”

She would know, especially since Kordell kept her broke and at his mercy. Porsha added that she doesn’t believe Cynthia and Peter are headed for divorce.

WTF News: Teacher Feeds Students Cookies Laced With His Semen

A former school teacher blind folded and fed his students cookies coated in his semen. He admitted to the offense and now children have been traumatized. It gets worse, ugh.

Via Daily Mirror:

Mark Berndt, 62, pleaded guilty at a hearing on Friday to 23 crimes at the Miramonte Elementary School in Los Angeles, America, against 30 of his pupils.

He is expected to be jailed for 25 years.

Berndt reportedly called the sick acts “tasting games” and they would involve him offering out cookies laced with his semen while keeping the students blindfolded.

Before he offered his plea, distraught mothers of the victims told the court how their daughters’ lives had been ruined.

According to reports, some of them now have eating disorders.

Berndt was finally caught when a drugstore photo technician noticed photos showing children as young as eight blindfolded.

Police later found a plastic spoon with traces of semen in a classroom bin.

He is also suspected of putting cockroaches on the students’ faces and taping some of their mouths shut, according to KTLA 5.

Berndt’s defense attorney says he is remorseful but what’s done is done. He destroyed his 39-year teaching career and faces 23 counts of lewd conduct.

I’m surprised none of the parents hurt this man.
