Notable singer/songwriter formerly of the group Next, RL, debuts the video to his first single, “Boo’d Up” featuring Big Play Entertainment label mate and fellow Minnesota native, Taylor J. Pulled off of his upcoming sophomore album, 5:15; so named for the actual time of his birth. RL feels he is ready to be reborn. RL has said that the song ‘felt right to the soul’ as the first single from this project and is something that would feel right being performed between classics like “Too Close” and “Wifey.” “My mother was telling me about the time I was born,” RL said, “and it was at 5:15. With this new project, I’m born again. I recorded 70 records for this album.”

Rap Legend The D.O.C. To Be Featured In April Issue of Playboy Magazine
(AllHipHop News) Rap legend The D.O.C. will celebrate 25 years in the Hip-Hop industry, by reemerging, starting with a high profile interview in an upcoming issue of Playboy magazine.
The legendary rapper/ghostwriter, who has written for artists like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Tupac and Eazy-E, is the subject of an article by Alex Pappademas titled “Ghost in The Machine.”
The Playboy article details the horrific car crash that damaged the vocal chords of one of Hip-Hop’s most unique voices.
The accident came at the height of The D.O.C.’s own fame after the release of his classic album, No One Can Do It Better.
In the Playboy article, The D.O.C. details his upcoming plans, as well as plans to write for new artists, in addition to his discussing his new reality show “HipHop Draft Presents: How I Got My Voice Back.”
The documentary, which will premiere this spring, chronicles The D.O.C. as he goes through an operation to regain his voice.
The exclusive interview with The D.O.C. in Playboy will run in the upcoming April issue, which hits newsstands on Friday (March 15).

I saw the tweets, but I knew there was more too this fight.
In the video below you can see that there is a clash of sorts. Then there is a disheveled Consequence being helped up by security. They are keeping him from jumping back into the fray. His girl Jen the Pen is heard screaming. There were rumors that VH1 had scripted this fight in to make the show more TV worthy, but I’m not going for that, especially after seeing the raw footage. Check it out.
Well, we got our spice for the day.
Honestly, I can’t wait to see what Tahiry says. She’s allegedly the one that did the most damage in the fracas!

SXSW Update: Raekwon Set to Headline AllHipHop’s Breeding Ground Showcase on Thursday
(AllHipHop News) The updates keep rolling in as the SXSW’s music week has been underway since Monday. With just days left before the Thursday show, AllHipHop has made a surprise announcement that Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon will be headlining the stage at Rusty Spurs n 405 E. 7th St.
Also set to perform at the (G-Pen x SuperGoodMusic x Sharp AQUOS) collaborative showcase will be Talib Kweli, a No Limit Forever set (Miss Chee (#BGA), T-Bo & Eastwood), Problem w/ Bad Lucc (#BGA), Clyde Carson (#BGA), Killa Kyleon (#BGA), Kosha Dillz, Watch the Duck, G Eazy, The Airplane Boys, Sahtyre and V.I.P. (K-Paul and Pimpin Pen #BGA).
While there are several big name special guests set to perform, organizers of the event plan on keeping the special guests surprises until they hit the stage.
“AllHipHop has been a big supporter of mines for years, and im truly excited to be apart of their Breeding showcase this year at sxsw, its gonna be epic night!!!” Raekwon to AllHipHop.com.
In addition to the performances, Sharp AQUOS & SwaysUniverse.com will be giving away a TV to one lucky winner at the event. The massive 60” Sharp Aquos TV will display the event partners logo’s throughout the event and will be awarded during the show.
The showcase will also feature two stages and over 20 different acts that are Breeding Ground picks (#BGA), G-Pen affiliated artists, SuperGoodMusic choices and several Hip-Hop legends.
