He’s created a name for himself thus far for his phenomenal production skills and his eclectic voice within the conglomerate of spitters known as the Brown Bag AllStars. And, with his recent EP titled I Think That…, The Audible Doctor has demonstrated yet again that he is ready, willing, and able to step up to most any rap challenge.
His readiness is even more apparent now that his new solo project has dropped, and in a recent meeting with AllHipHop.com, The Audible Doctor spoke on I Think That… and his feelings about stepping to the front of the stage on his own. He also promised he isn’t going to be “shutting up anytime soon!” Check out AllHipHop.com’s interview with Brown Bag Allstars member, Audible Doctor:
AllHipHop.com: Thanks for sitting down with us, Let’s just get right to it. This is your very first solo project on this side of the mic. How did it feel to create this project as a solo act versus as a member of a large group?
The Audible Doctor: Thank you for sitting down with me. It feels really good, but it’s also scary. I’ve been rapping longer than I’ve been producing, but this is really the first time I’ve stepped out on my own as an MC. It’s very different having all the creativity and all the content of a record resting on just your shoulders, but it’s something that I’ve been wanting to do for a while now, and it feels good to finally have the first project out. I hope people like it, because there’s a lot more on the way. I’m not shutting up anytime soon.
AllHipHop.com: Can you speak to the inspiration for this project and who worked on it with you, both the artists and producers?
The Audible Doctor: A lot of the inspiration for this record was just things that have been happening in my life and things I’ve been thinking about. There wasn’t any direct theme throughout the record, although you’ll hear me coming back to certain ideas and certain topics on different songs because I’ve been thinking about them a lot recently. Part of the idea of naming the project I Think That… is it’s really just a bunch of my thoughts put to music.
This was my announcement to the world that I rap as well as make beats, and a lot of the artists you hear on the project are people I’ve been working with in some capacity. I didn’t reach out too far for any special features; it’s mostly just family. I also reached out to a few people for outside production in an effort to try to get myself out from under that “oh he’s just a producer” shadow.
AllHipHop.com: What was the biggest lesson learned for you during this process?
The Audible Doctor: I procrastinate WAY too much [laughter]. I always knew that about myself, but I really stressed myself out with this one. I think I put too much pressure on myself because it’s my debut vocal project. I ended up having to cut a song, because I didn’t have the time to finish it and stay on track with the deadlines. But I’m very happy with how it came out, and I feel like I can only get better from here.
AllHipHop.com: What do you hope the listener takes away from this project?
The Audible Doctor: Really, I just hope they can relate to it. I connect with the music I love on a very personal level. I feel like I understand what the artist is going through and what they felt when they made the song, and that’s what I want to give to my fans. I hope they appreciate the music I make the same way I appreciate the music made by those that I’m fans of. I met a fan once that told me that I saved his life. He was going through a hard time and was suicidal, and in his darkest time, he found a CD of mine and put it on and just started writing. He ended up writing an entire project about his situation and came out the other end stronger than ever. Music is a very powerful thing, and I try to make genuine music that people can connect with.
AllHipHop.com: Are there anymore videos from this coming out soon?
The Audible Doctor: Yeah, I dropped the “Success (Part 1)” video featuring Chaundon, and I just dropped another video for “Baby Momma” recently. There is at least one more video on the way, but I’m not sure exactly when yet. The next video is going to be for “Andy Kaufman Theory”.
AllHipHop.com: Is there anyone that you haven’t worked with yet that you hope to work with in the future?
The Audible Doctor: Hell yeah, man, that’s a HUGE list. Um… lets just say my top five artists I hope to work someday with in no particular order are Ghostface, Pharoahe Monch, Black Thought, Andre 3000, and Gladys Knight. I feel like most of them are accessible, it’s just a matter of time. I’m coming for you, Gladys!
AllHipHop.com: What will make this first solo experience complete for you?
The Audible Doctor: A Grammy. No, I’m kidding. Honestly, it is complete. The project came out, and I’ve gotten a lot of really great positive feedback on it. I don’t like to dwell on things, so it’s time to keep it moving and focus on the next project. I set out to establish myself as more than just a producer, and I think I have. Now it’s time to keep running with it.
AllHipHop.com: What five words best describe this project?
The Audible Doctor: Genuine, Soulful, Good, Hip, Hop. Yeah I got lazy with the last three [laughter].
AllHipHop.com: What’s up next for you?
The Audible Doctor: My next project drops on the 30th of October. It’s an instrumental project called Doctorin that is executive produced by Large Professor. It’s 12 tracks of soulful Hip-Hop production, and you should buy it because I need to pay rent. You can and should pre-order it on iTunes now.
AllHipHop.com: How can people catch up with you?
The Audible Doctor: You can keep up with all updates on my website www.AudibleDoctor.com, or follow me on Twitter (@AudibleDoctor) and make sure you like me on www.facebook.com/AudibleDoctor. Or, you can always just Google me and you’ll find me, I’m lurking just around the corner on the Internet.

The LOX will finally be releasing a new album, and according to the good people over at MTV News, (Shout out Rahman Dukes and Rob Markman), Swizz Beatz and DJ Khaled will be executive producing their new LP. Check out what Sheek Louch said about the upcoming album below:
“The last meeting I had was with Swizz and Khaled and they’re executive producing this new LOX album. [This meeting] was the one that grabbed us and we’re gonna give y’all some real, real big records.”
That’s amazing news for all you LOX fans out there who haven’t had a LOX album in over 12 years! It looks like Swizz is already putting his connections to good use, and has gotten the LOX in the studio with the Mrs. – Alicia Keys.
“I was just in the studio the other night with us and Alicia Keys working on the Lox project and get ready y’all,” Sheek revealed. “I’m sorry for the delay and the wait, but this joint is gonna be monstrous, man.”
Sheek was up at the MTV office along with Ghostface Killah playing a few tracks from their upcoming WU Block album…more on that later.
Okay, so what’s with this re-signing to Diddy business in the headline? Well, Sheek revealed that the LOX took meetings with lots of record label execs, including Lil’ Wayne and Diddy.
“Lil Wayne tried to sign us, Puff tried to re-sign us and paint that picture over, we done been in mother—ers’ living rooms and talkin’ business,” he said.
I am shocked that after everything the LOX went through with Diddy in the past that they would even take a meeting with him. Were they seriously reconsidering signing with Diddy again? Or, do you think they just wanted to see him grovel?
So, while Khaled and Swizz Beatz are executive producing the album, the LOX still don’t have a label home. Which label do you think the album will be released on?
Check out the interview with Sheek below:

(AllHipHop News) Management for Lil Wayne has released a statement to AllHipHop.com, to clarify reports about the rap star’s hospitalization in Texas yesterday (October 25).
Lil Wayne’s private jet was forced to land in Texas yesterday, where the rapper was taken to a local hospital, treated and released.
“Lil Wayne was successfully released from the hospital after being treated for a severe migraine and dehydration,” a rep told AllHipHop.com. “He is at home on doctor mandated rest and will return to work soon. He appreciates all of his fans for their support and love.”
Lil Wayne’s management team denied reports that he suffered from a seizure and reports that he was still hospitalized and being treated.
The migraine and dehydration were serious enough for Lil Wayne to cancel an appearance at the Jefferson Mall in Louisville, Kentucky.
Lil Wayne was supposed to make an appearance at the Dillard’s at the Jefferson Mall to promote his Trukfit clothing line.
But the appearance has been canceled and according to Dillards, will be rescheduled at a later date.

“ASK OBAMA LIVE” will be hosted live from the White House by longtime MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway, who will relay questions from young voters to President Obama.

According to an MTV release, “ASK OBAMA LIVE: an MTV Interview with the President” marks the first time in the 2012 Campaign that “either President Obama or Governor Romney have focused solely on young voter’s top concerns on a nationally televised program. Governor Romney has also been invited to participate in his own event, although there is no word yet on his acceptance.
About MTV’s “Power of 12” Campaign
Building on MTV’s nearly 20-year Emmy and Peabody Award-winning political legacy with “Choose or Lose,” MTV’s “Power of 12” campaign is built specifically to reflect the Millennial generation and changes in the economic and political climate, and is designed to empower them to have a major impact on Election Day and beyond.
A signature element of the campaign is “Fantasy Election ’12,” which gives young people a new way to hold candidates accountable and rewards them for getting involved in the 2012 elections. Similar to Fantasy Football, “Fantasy Election ‘12” enables users to draft a team of candidates pursuing the presidency or congress, earning and losing points based on how their players behave in the real world. The first single from Big Sean’s Hall of Fame is titled “Guap,” which debuted last night (October 25) on his website UKnowBigSean.com.

It seems as though ever since the Cruel Winter rumors began, Pusha-T has been at the center of the hearsay. But could Pusha actually be left out in the cold when it comes to being featured on the next G.O.O.D. Music compilation album? According to the man himself, Cruel Winter is a “Q-Tip and Kanye thing”. So does that mean he’s completely off the album?
Related: Hip-Hop Rumors: Is There A “Cruel Winter” On The Way?
Not quite! Check out what Pusha-T told DJ Semtex in a new interview from across the pond:
“The Cruel Winter man, I don’t know. I know there are other records. I don’t know personally about Cruel Winter that’s a Q-Tip / Kanye thing.”
“Q-Tip and Kanye have the conversations that I am not privy to those conversations. So like I come in and I rap and I do my verses and then I be out. They have the collective sit downs you know, the war of the mind thoughts and sh*t like that. He asked me to talk on it, I’m not sure. I don’t know.”
In the interview, Pusha also admits to recording 20 verses for Cruel Summer but having a number of those verses not making the album. Why? Well, because the G.O.O.D. Music team is so dope. Pusha breaks down each G.O.O.D. Music artist and their strengths. Pretty interesting stuff. Check out the full interview with Pusha-T below, which also features some cool performance footage from his performance in the UK earlier this week:

I know my slang may be be out of date, but whatever. Nicki Minaj is on tour and doing shows, making men and women drool. Well, she did the same for this dude, soccer player Mario Balotelli. Over in the UK, dude is a stud and gets all the chicks he wants. Apparently, he had a date set up with Nicki Minaj and was all ready to get down. He had gifts and a romantic dinner set up after her show. According to reports, Nicki was too tired after her show and just decided to go to bed, to the chagrin of Mario. Mario got dissed and was shattered. But I thought Nicki was dating that Scoff Breezy dude? Anyway, I know that’s not his name, but I’m not going to google it either.
THIS MAN ALMOST BAGGED NICKI OR SO HE THINKS!
