DJ Holiday and MMG Signee Gunplay Speak On Their Upcoming “Bogota” Mixtape

(AllHipHop News) Brick Squad hit maker DJ Holiday teamed with Maybach Music Group and Triple C’s main act, Gunplay, in 2011 for the release of Bogota. The project spawned such hit records [“Banana Clips” feat. Lil Wayne, and “Black on Black” feat. Ace Hood & Bun B] that it turned into a bigger project.

“Bogota is crazy. The real Bogota is f*cking retarded; shout out to Ross for really taking time with the project. The prequel came out, and it was like, ‘Sorry for the wait,’ what Wayne did to hold the fans off ,” DJ Holiday told AllHipHop.com.

Bogota Rich the Prequel dropped in preparation for the official release , and the mixtape has done well, with over 200,000 downloads and has started a nationwide buzz for the feature project.

“Everywhere I went, all the shows I had were bananas. The people were pulling me at gas stations, grocery stores, ‘When’s the Bogota coming out?’ I salute Gunplay for having that fanbase, because I haven’t had a fanbase go crazy like that since Nicki Minaj,” Holiday said.

With Gunplay’s recent signing to Def Jam Records. he has been hard at work making appearances recently at the BET Awards while his crew performed.

About working with DJ Holiday, Gunplay told AllHipHop.com, “My n*gga Holiday, that’s the fool. Bogota Rich the Prequel out now; we at 200-something thousand [downloads] on DatPiff…go get that. I didn’t even press nothing up for the streets yet…now when I drop in the streets, it’s going to be brand new, ’cause there ain’t no laptops in the projects, n*gga.”

You comic book heads out there may be in for a treat! We are hearing that the Captain American sequel is in the works, and Marvel is rumored to be introducing the Falcon. The Falcon was America’s first African-American superhero, and although Marvel has not confirmed this, the Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Anthony Mackie is in talks to take on the role.

Mackie is a rising star in Hollywood. You may remember him from 8 Mile, as well as leading roles in The Hurt Locker. Do you think that is a good casting decision? Speak on it!

Bad news…there are no real rumors or anything to speak of regarding the Nas album release party last night. The only thing is I know is there were a lot of stars and a LOT of partying. Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Kanye West Coming To Reality TV?

Get your DVRs ready, because we hear Kanye West and his reality TV star girlfriend Kim Kardashian are rumored to be getting their own spin-off reality TV show.

The show will allegedly follow the couple as they jet set across the world in matching Air Yeezy’s and leather pants. According to HollywoodLife, the “cameras will follow the couple as they travel around the world, primarily in London, Paris, Italy and New York,” an insider claimed.

“They want to show the plush life of Kim & Kanye. Kim momager Kris thinks Kim should focus more on fashion and develop a line with Kanye, since he is so heavily involved in that world.”

The insider added: “Kris thinks this would bring in huge ratings. [She] is hoping Kanye’s famous friends like Jay Z and Beyonce will be OK with being filmed for certain segments.”

“And let’s face it the family has a $40 million deal with E! and they need to deliver the goods!”

While his girlfriend is more experienced with living life on camera, it seems Kanye is all for the idea and is keen to impress his in-laws.

“Apparently Kanye loves the idea!” the source claimed.
