Game Speaks On Leaving Interscope; Recruits Rick Ross, Meek Mill and Drake For New Mixtape

(AllHipHop News) Despite recently releasing a visual for The R.E.D. Album track “The City” with Kendrick Lamar, Game is looking ahead to what’s next, specifically parting ways with Interscope Records and releasing a new mixtape, California Republic.

The options for Game are endless according to the Compton MC who spoke on the possibility of aligning himself with an independent label with MTV. “That seems like a really, really good move where I can capitalize off of all the finances being made off of my music for once, but I don’t know. I kinda like having a lot of help, a lot of assistance from a big label. I don’t know, maybe we’ll have a meeting about a lot of money or I’ll be talking to my conscience.”

Despite his current issues with his label home of lnterscope Records, Game is wasting no time in releasing new music, as he’s already recruited Rick Ross, Drake, Meek Mill, and a slew of other artists for his new mixtape, California Republic. “Everybody from Waka Flocka to Meek Mill, Wale and Ross and Drake [will be on it]. I’m just calling in Hip-Hop favors to get my fans some free music,” he said.

Back in March, Game spoke to Billboard when he first announced the release and said that fans can expect “some new and upcoming artists from out this way,” and that fans “can expect my mixtape to do what it always does, which is consist of a lot of good music and be a lot better than most artists’ albums.”

When asked about the significance of the project’s title, Game said, “Basically California Republic, it’s an umbrella. People come here to do music, a lot of stars are in and out of town for countless awards and what not and everybody appreciates the California sun and everything under it. From the good green, the women, ya know, just our lifestyle. That’s pretty much what it’s about.”

California Republic is set to drop this spring.

Dispute Over DMX Tour Continues; Booking Agency Replies To Manager’s Comments

(AllHipHop News) A representative for a Miami-based company that is suing rapper DMX has replied to a statement his managers made regarding a failed tour of Germany.

DMX was supposed to tour Germany in April, but was forced to postpone the “DMX Undisputed Comeback Tour 2012″ due to passport issues.

Around the same time the news broke of the postponement of the Germany dates, it was revealed that DMX was also being sued by Heavy Rotation, LLC, over a separate, botched tour.

“We are not surprised to hear about the cancellation of the DMX tour due to passport issues,” a rep for Heavy Rotation told AllHipHop.com. “The news is validation that Heavy Rotation is the victim of the allegations made in our complaint.”

Heavy Rotation filed a $749,285 lawsuit against the rapper earlier this month, claiming they had an exclusive, year-long, worldwide booking agreement.

Heavy Rotation claims they paid DMX’s legal bills, bail and even helped with child support, in hopes of recouping the expenses through the tour.

DMX’s managers denied the accusations in a statement to AllHipHop.com and claimed they canceled the exclusive deal, due to Heavy Rotation’s business practices.

“Heavy Rotation specifically denies reports by DMX’s management that Heavy Rotation wanted DMX to break the law in any way and denies that Heavy Rotation expected DMX to travel based on a fake passport,” the rep told AllHipHop.com. “That is simply not true.”

Either way, it looks as though the dispute will have to be resolved in court.

“We believe that when all the facts come out in court, the truth will show that Heavy Rotation was wronged by DMX and his manager,” the rep said. “Heavy Rotation looks forward to that day.”
