(AllHipHop Rumors) Chicago rapper Chance The Rapper has certainly become a fan favorite. He’s also had a great 2017 already as the rapper won 3 Grammy awards at the 2017 Grammys.
Chance recently sat down with Complex to talk about his journey as an artist and as a father. As Chance reflected on his trailblazing career path [as an independent artist] through the music industry and his ambitious plans for his next album, he also revealed that his next project is going to be his first album, and that everything that preceded it was actually a mixtape. He also revealed that he may actually sell his first album!
“I might actually sell this album. That’s like a big step in itself. Kinda hate the fact that I can’t chart really, but the way they have the stream sh-t set up is weak AF. It’s unfair. I don’t know if it’s 1,500 or 1,700 streams is the equivalent to one unit. That’s unfair, no one listens to their song 1,700 times when they buy it. F-ck out of here. It makes it hard; I can’t really compete with other people. Not that the charts matter at all, but like come on. Anyways I think having it for purchase would be dope. This is all like hypothetical. There is no album. This is an idea. I have songs recorded, but I’m not working on a ‘Coloring Book’. I’m chilling right now. But I think in part it being for retail, I want to make something that has a wider scope. I think whatever this album is wouldn’t be so centered,” said Chance.
