Shyne’s

sentencing for assault, gun possession and reckless endangerment

was pushed back until June 1st a judge ruled Monday. Shyne’s

sentencing was delayed at the request of his lawyers, who

needed time to file paperwork relating to the the sentencing.

They are also going to make a move at a post-trial motion

to have some of his charges dismissed.

"Jamal is

staying positive. He prays a lot," Conrad Muhammad told

reporters. He also plans to hold a public meeting of music

executives on April 30th, where he will encourage them to

keep their young artists out of trouble. Here is Shyne’s apology

letter:

"I apologize. I apologize 4 da tears that have fallen

from my mother’s and grandmother’s tired eyes. I apologize

to the victims; I didn’t cause your pain but you can place

your blame on my shoulders. I apologize to all those who cry

for me. All those who believe in me. All those who believe

me when I say all I tried to do was defend myself. And finally

I apologize to my generation for not being there to lead you.

Not being there to help you — help you escape DA harsh

realities I sung about which you face everyday. I apologize.

I thank God for life and hope. Hope I find in all of you who

continue to support me and all of you who continue to believe

in me and believe me. God bless you all."

When Natania

Reuben was told of the statement, she responded "That

is not an apology." Reuben has seven bullet fragments

in her head, allegedly from Shyne’s gun. She was one of three

that were injured during the melee

The statement

was read to reporters outside Manhattan Supreme Court.
