Comedian Katt Williams has denied that he is related to a man arrested at his house in Los Angeles, who was wanted by Ohio authorities for a drug-related shooting.
The critically acclaimed funny man replied to published reports via his publicist Yvette Shearer, who said the comedian was not related to Robert McGhee.
McGhee was arrested by Federal Marshals on Tuesday (May 20) after agents tailed him to Williams Woodlawn Hills mansion.
McGhee fled Dayton Ohio, where he was wanted for allegedly shooting another man in the chest during a drug deal gone bad.
A relative of the fugitive told Federal Marshals that Williams, who was raised in Dayton, was a distant cousin of McGhees and that the two men had been on the road on two of the comedians 100-city Its Pimpin Pimpin tour.
“Katt is not a brother or distant cousin or any relative of Robert McGhee,” Williams Publicist Yvette Shearer told The Dayton Daily News. Katt did not even know this man was at his house.”
Williams was not home when McGhee arrived at his home.
McGhee is currently in the Los Angeles County jail. He is expected to be extradited to Dayton, where he faces numerous assault and weapons charges.
