LL Cool J has dismissed reports that his relationship with department store Sears has come to an end in a statement to AllHipHop.com.
My partnership with Sears has been a great success and I look forward to our continued working relationship providing affordable clothing for American families, LL Cool J said.
Earlier, rumors circulated through a number of traditional media outlets that the line had been closed down due to poor sales.
A representative for Sears also dismissed the reports and revealed that there is more to come with the clothing line.
Sears values its partnership with LL Cool J and will continue its commitment to providing the LL Cool J collection to its customers, both in-store and online, added Tom Aiello, division vice president, Sears Holding. The collection is characterized as affordable, iconic apparel for the family and represents an important breakout brand in Sears wide assortment of tees, denim and hoodies.
The Fall line was showcased in February during Fashion Week and various media outlets will get a sneak peak of the rappers holiday collection in one month.
The Sears/LL Cool J partnership started last September when Sears rolled the line out across 450 of its Sears stores.
LL Cool Js line includes juniors, kids and young men’s clothing.
