Hip-Hop Rumors: Nas Denies Using Ghostwriters!

[Editor’s Note: This video was recorded days before the scandal broke with Nas and the ghostwriters issue.]

I knew this was some BS! Nas is one of the gods of Hip-Hop! He may be the best EVER! That’s an argument we can have right now, but I think Nas is one of the Top 4 or all times. Now, I will let you decide who they are. Anyway, Sydney posted this earlier:

READ: Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Jay Electronica Nas’ Ghost Writer?

But Nas spoke to Big Boy today and put the KIBOSH on those rumors!

Some people do anything for a lil’ attention, huh?

  • Two words: Confidentiality Agreements.

  • this video was posted a week ago, not today

  • tahpics

So wait.. are we calling this a definitive denial or argument? lol. I don’t wanna believe it but like Jay-Z (or a potential ghost writer asked, AHH, “What we talkin’ bout?”

  • THIS VIDEO WAS POSTED LAST WEEK ON AUGUST 8 CHECK THE DATE

  • thuglifefukdapolice

    2nd greatest of all time

  • thuglifefukdapolice

    pac 1st

  • I doubt it…Nas has managed to sound the same his entire career……Not to mention he doesn’t age…Nas can do no wrong in my eyes.

    • kstaxx

All human beings can do some wrong, you are a certified STAN!!

      • TupacLives

especially when he said he’s sounded the same his entire career lol.. dior needs to wake up from the matrix.

      • digitallife

If you are going to stan anyone in the music industry, nas isn’t a bad choice. Nas and Tupac are the closest we’ve come to shakespearean levels of wordplay in hip-hop and no i’m not talking about the party songs they’ve made i’m talking about their songs on social ills.

      • johnblacksad

“whatchu gon do, fight or run? seems to me that you’ll take THEE…” omfg! did you say Shakespearean?

    • lol nas did alot of shit wrong and he talks all about it on his latest album which is ill as a mofo !!!!!!!! if you aint got it go get it now and if you cant afford hit up maino on twitter im sure he still has a few spare copies LOL but yeah nas is def just like anyone else he just has a skill that alot of folks admire 😉 which every person has that “something” find yours

  • Dave Williams

Nas is one of the best ever !!!

  • Jahb1911

4th after Jay, Em, and Big for me. And PAC rounds out My top 5 ever.. That’s my top 5..

  • Negro Peligro

Seriously has anyone heard Jay Electronica rap. DUDE IS NOT THAT NICE AT ALL.

    • UjustS

BOY STOP!!! Exhibit A says it all

  • $17637591

This aint proof…what yall think Nas gonna admit he used a ghost writer? This is shiit just might be tru. Dream Hampton tweeted before the album was released she heard 6 reference tracks that Stic from Dead Prez and J Elect recorded for Nas’s Untitled album. If its tru this knocks Nas from top 5.
    DETROIT HARD HEADZ

    • some one needs to smack dream hampton for even starting this ridiculous rumor … matter of fact 2 times now that we know she was talking out the side of her mouth … wheres funk flex when you need him LOL 😉

  • see if u dont use ghostwritters u come out say u dont, you dont sweep everything under the rug like lil wayne… thats how u kno wayne is as fake as they come.

  • dagmarlena

    Nas wears some Audio-Technicas.

the real question would be did anyone ghost write Illimatic, stillmatic, it was written, I am…,the lost tapes or Life is good? if the answer is yes, i would be up in arms. till then….

    • TupacLives

tragedy khadafi came up with the word illmatic.. .. then the subsequent ish with cormega on it was written..the drop in quality is not a coincidence.. Nas has always been as good as the people around him.. he has a good delivery, and he has a deep thought process.. but dude is a good ‘storyteller’ he doesn’t live it as much as he ‘sees’ it.. i had the ‘privilege’ of meeting him and he came across phony in a lot of wayz to me.. him getting caught up with a ho like kelis is another strike against him.. people are obsessed with Nas so this comment might get flak but I know what i’m talking about.. by the way, the last album is complete trash compared to the material on his first 3 albums and Stillmatic. I can’t sink myself to a lower standard when a bar has already been met.. there’s too much actual good music out there.

      • YaheardSyndicate

        you must be on drugs.

      • TupacLives

I’m in the business.. and the circle is small. You’ll obviously believe what ever you want to believe.. I’m just here to enlighten those that are willing to listen to the truth.

      • crom777

        Your full of shit

      • The Brain

Life is good is an amazing fuckin album! Shut your dumbass up.

      • The Brain

Not you Crom777… The Dumbass Tupac Stan.

      • TupacLives

lol there hasn’t been an amazing ALBUM in hip hop for almost 10 years. Nas included. and no i don’t f*ck with Kanye either. yall throwin the word amazing around like that is too funny to me, you probably think the 2012 Team USA is better than the 92 dream team too.

      • UjustS

i was respecting ya opinion until i got down here and I’m a huge Nas fan he has the #1 headband on my list and still i respected ya opinion…but to say there hasn’t been an amazing hip hop album in the last 10 years is just pure fuckery my dude sorry…true enough the game is pure garbage these days has been since laffy taffy got a pass in my opinion but I’m not sure what you listen to…please I wanna know what was the last AMAZING album YOU heard…i can name plenty in that 10 year span you speak of won’t name any Nas since you SEEM to be anti-Nas…..Food&Liquor…Black Album…Late Registration (Kanye) The Carter (when Wayne was good)…Let’s Get Free…Love Below/Speakerboxxx…Trap Muzik…H.N.I.C…The Fix…The Cool….Wizard of Poetry…Quality…just a few that automatically come to mind for me

      • TupacLives

none of the albums you listed will be played 50 years from now. I promise you this. the last classic hip hop album was Get Rich or Die Tryin. and i’m no 50 fan like that. I just know timeless when I hear it. problem with fans is that they aren’t that objective, but then again it’s not their job to be either. It’s all good tho. I expected this backlash.

      • Your 100% wrong about his selection of Albums Let’s Get Free is over 10 yearsold, and I still rocks with that album. Food and Liquor is came out in 06′ and still gets heavy rotation. Nas is the type of artist who releases emotions on track that can be seen through the words. Get rich and Die trying was a commercial success yet to play any of those records with the exception of many men sounds very dated.

      • UjustS

much respect Mr. Fuller because lyrically Food&Liquor smashes anything 50 has done hands down..

      • TupacLives

there’s more to music than lyrics.

      • UjustS

now you trying to insult my intelligence dude i never said the only element to music is lyrics you’d be surprised to know that i know a lil more about music than you probably think i do but i repeat LYRICALLY F&L outshines anything 50 has done that was my statement..the production wasn’t weak either…*side note*i bet you’d say something like Kanye isn’t a dope producer

      • TupacLives

Food and liquor is dope but there’s no way that album is used as a reference in even 30 years, let alone 50. Remember we had this convo if we make it there.

      • UjustS

it’s not backlash Pac you must didn’t read the part where i said i respected ya opinion until you said no amazing album has dropped in the last 10 years that’s just bullshit bruh I’m sorry…GRODT which was a hella dope CD is not the only amazing CD in the last 10 years and I’m a 50 fan like that unlike yourself (used to be more so before he started beefing with everybody for no reason) but i play The Massacre and Guess Who’s Back way more than that album matter fact Venni Vetti Vecci by Ja Rule the dude who’s style 50 jacked (IMO) is more timeless than GRODT…you sounding like you’re the law on what’s qualified as timeless/good music or not…if anything if you don’t agree with any of the CD’s I named you show me how much you don’t know about timeless music saying the Outkast isn’t in that category cause all of their CD’s are timeless matter fact Speakerboxxx/LoveBelow is Diamond just like GRODT so I’m not understanding your logic…you don’t get Diamond status by fluke….but none of the albums will be played 50 years from now you promise that huh? 😐 stop it please…

      • TupacLives

There’s been some classic songs on the albums you mentioned but they aren’t classic albums.. yes i’m telling you with 99% certainty in 50 years GRODT will be gettin burn.. the other albums won’t be, maybe by you.. but not on a general level, no. And especially not as a reference point.. remember I said ALBUMS. Speaker/LoveBelows biggest record was a straight up pop record. I hardly classify that as hip hop, but Andre 3000 is a certified genius who makes my top 10, maybe even my top 5 all time. A lot of people don’t even know it was him on the mpc/drums on Bombs over Baghdad on that Aquemini album.. that was a game changer.. and THAT’S innovation. Again that was also over 10 years ago.

      • UjustS

aight Pac i strongly agree to disagree with you on this debate especially about the Outkast album and i leave it at that…i won’t even bring up my feelings on Nas bc this will never stop at least on my end…you have your opinion like i have mine it’s all good

      • johnblacksad

even Com’s The Dreamer/The believer is dope… (notice i’m not eve ntalkin about BE)

      • UjustS

yes indeed…i most def rock with Common BE is a classic to me i played the hell out that CD in my car until it wouldn’t play no more lol it’s a few CD’s i failed to mention for arguments sake and probably personal opinion sake but i felt the one’s i did name are hands down classics or at least in my book they are

      • TupacLives

it’s spelled you’re…what am I ‘full of shit’ about? elaborate. Do your research. chances are all the people dislikin my shit and likin your shit are under the age of 21. I can name Nas records you’ve never heard. Good ones. So pardon me for not likin the wack shit.

      • crom777

It’s spelled liking not likin. Like I said you are full of shit.

      • TupacLives

is that the best you got? You’re/your their/there is the much bigger problem with the english language nowadays youngin.. and until you can say WHY i’m full of sh*t stop ridin(g) nas’s d*ck.

      • crom777

You dumb mf you started the spelling bullshit. Im not riding no ones dick but u are riding PAC’s lol.

      • TupacLives

me clamin Tupac’s legacy will live is not ridin anyone’s dick. I’m not sittin here bashin people who don’t like Pac, although I probably would ask them why.. I could tell you a million reasons why Nas is overrated to me.. you still haven’t told me what I’m fulla shit about. I’m not callin u dumb or fulla shit or none of this nonsense. My guess is you a young dude. Study the game youngin. You got a lot to learn.

      • hey everyone is entitled to thier opinion i can respect that and not gonna try to force my view on you as you shouldnt try to force yours … just voice your opinion and let others form thier own …. 😉

      • TupacLives

I appreciate that.. like i said, Tragedy came up with the word ‘illmatic’ and Nas has only ever been as good as the people around him so this news hardly comes as a surprise. He hardly innovated as much as people give him credit for.. much like Jay-Z.. they’ve just consistently put out material.. fans are fans.. I look it at more like a business. Watch the story of queensbridge documentary on youtube if you haven’t yet.. Real recognize real.

Nas Wrote “getting Jiggy with it” by Will Smith.

    • TupacLives

i know an 8 year old that could of written Gettin Jiggy with It.. by the way, you could have put all those comments under one comment.

  • YaheardSyndicate

Also, Jay Electronica is tight, but theres no way he’s tight enough to write for Nas. Nas could be writing for him.

  • YaheardSyndicate

Yall really think Nas would use Stic Man as a ghost writer? When was the last time Stic Man wrote a hit for himself? now hes writing hits for Nas? come on yall

  • Nemesis_Enforcer

THATS what Nas has been missing. DJ LES. Dude was more than a producer for Nas. he helped Executive produce all of his classics

  • Suava

so who wrote Nas’ Live at the bbq verse??? If you listen to every song nas featured on, he bodied is counterpart. for instance, Raekwon’ Verbal Intercourse, Raekwon said nas wrote like 3 verses and Rae told nas to go with the one he went with. Do u remember Mobb Deep’ Eye for an Eye…Cut the shit yall.

  • Slaughtr

YO NAS DON’T EVER EXPLAIN NOTHING TO NOBODY ABOUT YOU HAVING GHOST WRITERS, LIKE THE WHITE BROAD IN HUSTLE & FLOW SAID KEEP THE TRICKS GUESSING.MY FAM BEEN IN THIS SHYT TO LONG TO BE QUESTIONED ON WHAT ALOT OF THESE FAKE ASS ARTIST ARE DOING AND HAVE BEEN DOING FOR YEARS.MY OPINION IS IF YOU GET A CAT TO WRITE FOR YOU GIVE HIM HIS CREDITS, POINTS, AND INTEGRITY BUT NA THE INDUSTRY IS ON OL SOME OSCAR CONTENDER SHYT LIKE ROSS HOG.

  • Slaughtr
