EXCLUSIVE: French Montana Talks “Mac & Cheese 3”; Success of “Pop That” Collabo Single

EXCLUSIVE: FRENCH MONTANA FILLS US IN ON HIS HUGE “POP THAT” SINGLE WITH ROZAY, WEEZY AND DRIZZY

(AllHipHop News) Bad Boy/MMG affiliate and Interscope Records artist French Montana is excited about the success of his new strip club-friendly single, “Pop That”, featuring Rick Ross, Drake, and Lil Wayne.

The Bronx rapper spoke with AllHipHop.com during an exclusive interview in Los Angeles, California this week at Interscope’s worldwide headquarters, in Santa Monica.

French repeatedly shouted out “Pop That” during the interview, enthusiastic about his “Pop That Contest.”

The song will be featured on French Montana’s debut album Excuse My French, while the artwork for his mixtape, Mac & Cheese 3, was just released.

French told AllHipHop.com with confidence that his album would be unequivocally better than the mixtape.

“Definitely shout out to the whole Interscope, man, since [signing] I just been working on the project. I feel like I just come from where you gotta have an appetizer before the meal, so that’s why I got this Mac & Cheese 3,” French Montana said.

“It’s just to let people know what to expect from me. You can’t have your mixtape better than the album. I basically did 50 songs, and whatever doesn’t make the album, we just gonna keep them for the streets, you know what I’m saying?” French explained.

“Pop That” has already been declared the lead single for the Excuse My French debut effort, and French Montana has created an entire contest centered around the single’s theme.

“Pop That. Coke Boyz/Interscope/Bad Boy are doing a contest. It’s gonna be big, bigger than life, we done flew in the baddest b*tches in the world. We gonna bring out the leaf blowers,” French told AllHipHop.com.

Discussing the contest helped French remember one of his favorite strip club songs.

“Akinyele, “Come F*ck Me for Free”, a chick ask me for a hundo, and I would tell her ‘Come F*ck me for Free,’ French Montana said. “But all the strip club joints were hits. I used to love all of them; that’s where the hits start from. The biggest song in the club now is “Bands Make Her Dance” and “Pop That”.”
