Hip-Hop Rumors: Has Eminem Turned His Life Over To God?

Whewwwwww WEEEEE! Starting these rumors off with a BANG in 2013. I heard a doozie recently and I’m not sure that I can believe that its completely true. On the flip, I wouldn’t be shocked if it was. Eminem has been evolving a lot over the last few years. We’ve seen it. Maturity. Sobriety.

I heard an interesting rumor recently. I was told that Eminem has quite possibly turned his life over to God and gotten saved! CRAZY?!?! Now, his verse on 50 Cent’s song he references Christ, but it sure doesn’t sound like he’s born again. But a source claiming to be from Detroit and knowledgeable enough says that Em has been going through even more changes as his daughter gets older, he removes himself further from the depths of the music industry. The sourse also suggested that is has had an impact on business and some of the acts, but mostly on his refusal to conform to what his expected of him from the music game. The butt in the face thing was mentioned as an example of one of the final straws for Em.

I did a google search and I found this video. Maybe Eminem has been a born again Christian or just came BACK.

Anyway, God bless. And Happy 2013.

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry! -illseed.

If true congrats…Em would still be nice with it!

  • hoeyuno

em’s worst characteristic is his lack of appreciation for his wealth and fans. not only did he recieve his life dream and became a mainstream rapper but he managed to fall into the longevity club for mc’s which is harder to do then the first I stated. ever since he blew he’s been crying about fans at his door and how he can’t take a shit at taco bell.. get some pitbulls and just be happy your not the one cleaning that toilet at taco bell anymore homie!!!

    • Sean Taylor

      shut up ho

      • hoeyuno

hahahahahaha!! it took you a week to think of that…. but be careful Sean, your mom catches you cursing on her computer again and you won’t be able to write anymore three word, one syllable comments for another week.

    • Legendary Trolly

Thats because he realized that money and fame cant make everything perfect!

    • Negro Peligro

Man what you gone rap about at 40. You still popping pills and going to the club @ 40. Come on dawg. Time to pack it up. Grow up. Dude bout to have grand kids. You popping Xannies while you baby sitting your grand kids. Shit ain’t tight.

      • reg joe

Now thats ignorance at its finest and the very reason that rappers cant maintain longevity. Its called evolution and support. White folks allow their bands to flourish even in their 60’s. The Stones, The Boss, and countless others continue to sell out auditoriums in their 50’s and 60’s. As Black folks, we say stupid shit like “You cant still rap and go to a club in your 40’s” Who the hell put an age limit on good music? Instead of honoring our pioneers, we talk shit about them being older instead of having reverance for them. I say, Do You as long as you can stand upright! Enough of this self limiting bullshit. I hope Jay-Z makes an album when he is 50 and it goes multi platinum. Theres no age limit on talent. Whoever told you that rap is a young mans game, just doesnt want the competition. Its the folks that buy the music that are the determining factor. Do all Black folks a favor and stop trying to limit them with an age stipulation. If White folks can have the Rolling Stones, why the hell cant we have our own?

      • Adrian Barron

WTF are you talking about fam? LOL! You mean to tell me that EWF, The Isley Brothers, Cameo, Doug E. Fresh, MC Lyte, New Edition, etc are no longer touring. That’s news to me because i just seen all of them over last summer in concert. Get off that THE WHITEMAN GOT THIS and why we cant have our own, because we have our own. Maybe we need to stop comparing ours to theirs – is what you really meant to say? Is Jay well into his 40’s still touring and releasing records? This is a young man’s game regardless if you want to accept that or not however, that doesnt completely cut the money off for older or more established acts – it only narrows the lane they have to get money. It’s the natural progression OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW. Not every WHITE band is going to be able to continue touring into their 60’s just like not every BLACK band will be able to either. Only the exceptions to the rule we be able to prosper for both black and white bands. Its a consumers market and unfortunately most of rap sales are marketed towards younger audiences – proven fact.

  • lol @ the picture with sumones ass in his face if its true he will be like pastor mase and probaly have his own church in detroit and if he countinues 2 do music he will do gospal kirk franklin rap music with no swearin of course

Em seems like one of the few super rich rappers with some kind of a conscience. He feels guilt about Proof, and has lost his appetite for the industry.

Everybody wants the riches, but when they realize what they had to sacrifice to get them, they have moral regret. By then, they feel it’s too late to speak out, because they either fear reprisal from breaking the oath or they fear the public backlash if they complain and say that the money really wasn’t worth it all. So, they either dive further off into the wicked side of the game or they break away to try to get their souls washed, often in the sanctity of religion. Look how extreme Mase, Loon, and Shyne went (Christianity, Islam, Judaism). What else do these three rappers have in common?

    • SpaceAge2012

They all danced with da devil & got burned,& don’t forget Craig Mack either.

    • reg joe

Proof was an idiot. I dont like to speak ill of the dead. However, when you do dirt, it has a way of coming back on you. He basically caused his own death. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Its not just an adage. Theres def some truth to that.

      • Q.

Perhaps he was, perhaps he wasn’t. It’s easy to attribute violence which happens to rappers to their street background and/or street mentality. But if we bought that all the time, then everybody would think Big died due to gang beef. The circumstances surrounding Proof’s death are suspicious–even Em said this on “Going Through Changes:”

They say Proof just flipped out, homie just whipped out and bust,
Nah, it ain’t like Dudey to do that,
He wouldn’t fckin’ shoot at nobody–he’d fight first,
But dwellin’ on it only makes the night worse,
        Now I’m poppin Vic’s, Perc’s, and Methadone pills…

Proof’s killing was telegraphed in the “Toy Soldiers” video. Why is that?

  • oh no, so based on the other rumor, eminem broke the vow, he’s next!!!!( blatent sarcasm)

  • MiiUziWeighsATon

Is there a secret oath one must take to become a celeb in the music industry cuz two people on this forum mentions Em breaking an oath/vow…just asking…and if its such a secret how these two cats who spoke on it know about it

  • El Chapo Gwapo

I could’ve sworn that lettin another man stick bare ass in his face was partly Em’s idea… I’m pretty sure it was all staged

  • best_believe

I hope so. A lot of people follow him. And that would be a good role model.

  • SpaceAge2012

Em made million$ from rap music, made it cool for white boys who enjoy it 2 do it without fear of bein clowned & called a wigger,& played his role in destroying Murder Inc Records for his bosses. He is considered da Great White Hope that made it possible 4 guys like Yela Wolf,M.G.K. & Mac Miller 2 even pick up da mic & get recording contracts, but he’s been battlin with many demons over da years & knows that all that $ & fame will never be able 2 replace what he has lost 2 get where he is,& that it will never be enuff 2 fill that empty hole in his soul that came along with da fame & that’s da real reason why he wants out of da music business. The vanities of this world is only a fleein illusion,u’ll gain nothin by it at da cost of ur soul.

Alot of you niggaz posting bullshit need the creator too so don’t judge Em for being convicted into whatever spiritualy he feels. Until you get you ass in the business to see the wickedness all most of you will do is blab like bitchey ass fans and state what you think. Just because you make music doesn’t mean you have to like fans that shyt gets to be annoying after a while so if you don’t live that life shut the fuk up. In the type of world we live in you better grab a hold of your soul and find yourself cause with the state of hip hop depleting the stage to speak how you feel will be no more, and yea you don’t ever have to agree with my statements so don’t bark back with bullshit cause i’ll yawn on you and delete your cackling respect a brother cause brought you good music.

  • D_Ably

God wouldn’t play with none of these fools. Eminem rappin about fukin his mom and Game grindin the stripper pole lol Gods a joke if thats the case.

    • ATGreat

you have a point tho, but you can’t judge anyone

  • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

Maybe he saw the truth in this Hebrew Israelite Movement….Long Live GOCC!!!!

  • ATGreat

Niggas want to be like em and em wants to be like/with God, what are you going to do, what’s real infront of you now or keep pretending to be someone else and don’t listen? em knows his skills comes with the blessings

  • ATGreat

    I hope so

  • Snoop

Very interesting. I hope he is and changes and becomes a good role model for people. But I highly doubt that. The only way that can prove that he did change is if he comes out and testify that he did and over time his action proves that. If he just maybe mentions God a couple of times in his songs does not mean he has really changed. He has to have a 180 change and only time will tell.

All you think that you know eminem or you know what he is thinking. If eminem gets out the rap game it will destroy his legacy of becoming the best rapper of all time. Eminem makes great music. And he also makes whack music. Everyone does. The Best QB of all time didn’t go his whole Career without throwing a INT did they? NO!.. So therefore Eminem in my eyes will go down as the best rapper of all time if he sticks with making music. HE probably does feel bad for what happen to proof, he probably does feel like he created proof’s death. But he has to get over that shit, yeah i understand that is your best friend but why destroy something you have worked your whole life to get to. Then throw it all away.?? Eminem I know you dont read this but hopefully someone close to you does. Don’t let PROOF down, don’t stop making music, dont stop hustling, dont stop taking care of your children, Don’t leave us, the fans the reason why you are here today. Yeah there was alot of people that try to get you to go away after your first mix tape play on air.. But seriously all yall its not about his life, its not about proof, its not about how much money you make, now its about his legacy!! so be true to yourself become the greatest of all time to pick up the mic. Don’t be forgotten about like your Vanilla Ice.. Whats that guy flipping burgers somewhere? Be Breezy yall Stay EASYY~!!

I dont think hes going down as the greatest of all time or close. He really hurt his career for a long time with those horrible accent style raps. He has alot of whack songs, but you admit it and i agree everyone does, sorta impossible not to when you put out that much music. I dont think he has to worry about turning out like vanilla ice, legacy or money wise. I think the best way he could solidify his legacy would be to release alot of new music and stay doing collabs with artists. For awhile pre and during 50 cents time on interscope Em didnt collab with any non shady/aftermath/gunit artist. Now he recently has done more, like the songs with wayne, rihana, and some of the misses like the one with TI. I think if he pops up on more relevant artists tracks it will help him get his respect in the industry (which i think he has, maybe not as much as he deserves but who knows). Hes spending to much time on flops, like slaughterhouse. Look on paper slaughterhouse looked and sounded like a awesome idea. They have a few good songs, they all have good to great skill so them flopping as bad as they did on the commercial side was a bit shocking. I thought they would do a bit better, i mean they sold really low amount s for being on a major and having a hit single (one for the first, the shitty Swiss (swizz?) beats song on the 2nd). He was all over the 2nd album, obviously trying to sell it, but he has lost some of his commercial appeal i think. Its not guarenteed that putting em on an album is gonna increase sales, the artist still have to do it which pretty much all shady records artists have been failures. Em himself still has good commercial appeal on his albums. He had a fairly weak single in not afraid and that album still sold well. I think hes to much of a loner/out of the media to be greatest of all time or having a great legacy. He has stopped touring pretty much. I dunno if proofs death is a source of regret/guilt, i dunno how he could come to that conclusion cause it had more to do with what proof was doing and drinking + firearms. I think proofs death snapped him to reality and might have been when he started trying to get sober. Someone mentioned that he do esnt tour cause its a trigger for his addiction. That true? He ever say anything like that or is that a guess?

A lot of people are saying things like, “This would ruin his career”, and “This puts him out of the running for the greatest……” Maybe you aren’t really grasping what this means. Millions of people have given up things that would seem like the ultimate goal in their lives to accept the internal, supernatural change to something GREATER than anything we could conceive of aspiring to. I wouldn’t expect those who have not experienced it to understand, (you COULDN’T) but I will say that in 99-2000….when Em hit the scene real hard, I was a -word-for-word-quotin, SUPER FAN, who had a lifestyle to match the lyrics. In 2003, that lifestyle and its consequences took its toll and I finally accepted Jesus and became born again. Do you think I spend my time yearning for that lame crap I used to think made me somebody? Uh no, I’ve spent me time since then praying for people like Em and others who I used to be influenced by to experience this crazy peace and freedom that I’ve had ever since. I would NEVER trade it for that mess I used to think was a life!

    • WhatupJ

Listen im not religious in the conventional sense, but the day someone being religious or not affects their career is the day they gotta get out of that business. I wish good things for Em, if that means going to god to find them then good for him. He obviously needed to change something in his life, he was going down the wrong path and killing himself and his career. He has made enough money to be fine if he hung it up, i dont think he will or can honestly. I think he still has love for rap and the further he gets away from that 50 cent mentality of working with no one and beefing with everyone the better. Some of his biggest hits recently were songs with lil wayne, rihana, that forever song with drake on it. I want to see more collabs with em and east coast artists cause i think he fits in better with that flow/sound than southern (no hating just preference). Em on a mobb deep song coulda killed, i dunno if it would be popular but i would like it, him with any part of the Wu Tang would be epic (GZA or Ghostface). But back to the god thing, i dont see how anyone can look at as a bad thing. I think that only happens when the religious go out of their way to overly try to sell you on their religion. I admit that is annoying, but other than that religion is a positive thing. I dont mean the religious are better people per-say, but they arent worse for it. I think Em would benefit most from changing his subject matter. The i hate woman shit, is getting old. All of his verses are negative shit about women, he has really very little other subject matter (for the most part). I think hes more creative, im glad he dropped the accents cause those were killing his career. Now he has to drop the singing hooks, he cant sing and his voice is to feminine when he does the hook. It just sounds bad, low quality and womanly. To many rappers sing now, miss guys like Nate Dogg who killed hooks. An example of his bad singing almost destroying a song is drop the world with lil wayne. His little 2-4 bar singing part before he starts rapping is just horrible sounding on every level. Alot of the crap he sings could be done with harmonic type rapping and would sound alot better and less gay.
