Hip-Hop Rumors: See Why Its Time To Work For Jay Z!

Peep what they are reporting about Jay Z and how he’s treating his Roc Nation fam.

He wasn’t joking when he talked about his “whole team ball!”

Jay Z is making it rain! Fresh off the release of his 12th solo album. Magna Carta…Holy Grail, the music and business mogul has been showing his gratitude with lots of zeros. “Earlier this year he handed out $50,000 bonuses to everyone in his company, which includes assistants and very low-level people,” a Jay Z employee tells Star. “He even promised another bonus for Christmas.”

“He’s extremely generous – most celebrities are supercheap when it comes to running their businesses,” says the insider. “He knows if his employees are happy, it will benefit him in the long run. His only demand was for everyone to have fun with the money.”

THAT’S HOW YOU BUILD A SUCCESSFULLY CONSISTENT EMPIRE!!! EVERYBODY GETTING PAID (BIG BONU$E$) & ENJOYING THE WORK THEY DO (WHY WOULD’NT THEY?). HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE TO TELL PEOPLE, “I WORK FOR ROC NATION?” REAL TALK THAT’S REALLY WHAT’S UP!!!!!

    • Sean Taylor

Damn bruh you gotta pube hanging between your teeth….juggle.

      • MR. UNDI$PUTED THE MOGUL

1st off I’m not your “bruh”, All 7 of my brother’s respect me as a $ucce$$ful Businessman & know I don’t believe in being jealous of other people’s accompolishment’s!!! Looking at the other replies to the actual story there’s always at least 1 or some crab ‘n the barrel, lazy hating ass loser scumbags such as your self, who confuses giving someone (a powerful black man) props with dick riding! Enough with all the self hatred in the black community!!! It makes me wonder who you actually work for, if you even have a job at all, but then again what you do doesn’t stop my operation’s/money from coming in so piss off!!!!

      • just_some_bastard #ALCOHOLIC

Might as well just have ignored him……everything you said is true and sean taylor is clearly an idiot.

Hova is the man, learn something from this man hiphop

  • >>Gives propz!

He makes it hard to hate, especially the way he has been repping since the Belafonte issue.

    • Matt Swan

you know man I was supportive on this until I remembered a spot on here where they were complaining about the prices of the “cheap” seats at his shows. If I’m right they started at 200+ and they were also talking about how other artists were taking hits in the pocket to support their fans and give them a quality show. I’m not going to knock Hov, and I’m glad his workers got some good compensation, but it begs to question, he’s taking care of those that support his company, but where is he supporting those that made him in the first place…..his fans? I don’t care about all his accomplishments because I was a fan when he was still rockin high ass socks and that damn Hawaiian shirt in “Hawaiian Sophie”, lookin like a straight up crab and still like some of his work now, but to me if you’re not part of that inner circle, he’s still givin the rest of us fans “the finga” This is just my take on the whole thing, but believe me I’m not hatin, just statin.

      • That’s the American way.

Wish i had learned it earlier, but there is no such thing as friends….
@Would we do the same? Probably.

If you put money in the bank instead of donating it, it’s the same thing, just on a different level.

      • Matt Swan

well in that case he’s going to make a killing when he does his corporate taxes next year. 50G’s each is one hell of a write off.

      • I didn’t even think about that, which makes it an even bigger win!

      • don king

they got u totally fooled “If you put money in the bank instead of donating it, it’s the same thing, just on a different level.” SMH IDIOT!!!

      • Explain?
You work 40hrs a week, etc., pay your bills & put $100 in the bank instead of feeding the homeless with it, but get on AHH talking about what Jigga, etc., should be doing with their money to help the community?

        That is an idiot IMHO.

His money, he earned it & doesn’t owe anyone he didn’t pay or that haven’t sued him for what he owes them.

Don’t get it twisted, I’m a certified Jay Z hater, etc., but that crab mentality you’re exhibiting is some type ‘chet I can’t condone.

Jay Z owes us nothing & everything he does give us is a blessing. It’s easy to talk about how he should be doing more, but it’s a whole lot harder to actually “DO MORE” than he’s done, *If he’s done anything, which I’m sure he has….even if it was just for tax purposes, etc.

      • don king

where did i say what jay should b doin with his money???
i just said dont get it twisted this 50,000 aint shit 2 him, thats it. i dont got money on the bank (no further explanation) n i think ur comment is idiotic, cause its bs. puttin money in the bank is ABSOLOUTELY NOT the same thing as donating, just on a different level. donating = mainly poor people get ur money, puttin money in the bank = only rich people profit! if u dont want 2 b called an idiot, u better dont write such bs.

      • I see what’s happening, through the name calling, ‘chet got twisted.

Let’s leave the name calling on the 3rd grade playground when we building, since we both made mistakes.

I didn’t mean banking was the same as donating, I meant banking / saving instead of donating…is the same thing as Jigga “NOT” donating his $$.

      • don king

oh i see now what went wrong n i have 2 apologize! i was just flyin over those comments n this sentence stood out 2 me, but it seems like i totally got that sentence wrong. sorry dog!!!

      • Peace

        >> Gives “E” Dapz

      • Weedras

i don’t know about them seat prices but i got tickets to see him at Barclays for $95 a pop… but fans keep forgetting that these artists are a part of a business, and they themselves are trying to be a business and concerts are where they make most of their money… as long as i respect a rapper/artist’s music i’ll shed a $ if i wanna see them perform i’ll also shed a $ i expect nothing in return its like treating myself to a night on the town… Rolling Stones, U2 etc. have been going out on tour for decades and their ticket prices are crazy!

      • johnblacksad

I was at Barclay’s show in October last year… Jay made sure 7000 seats went at $30… so Brooklyn can come celebrate!

You know me, i was gonna go for the $300 tickets but none were available, i was only able to get my hands on them cheap ones… i paid $88 for two nosebleed… Jay came out on stage rappin ODB’s Brooklyn Zoo verse… I almost fainted like a b!tch… whaaat? Jay-Z on some Wu sh!t??! Can’t get any better for me… #memories

I believe some tickets were $1500… ON TICKETMASTER!! i’m not even talkin black market… but that ain’t Jay’s fault, demand & offer…

      • Inmadopicouroz✓QUEENSᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

u the type of nicca to go to Jay concert and then go to Jim Jones/The Game concert the next night.FOH QUEENS!

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

damned if you do and damned if you dont … its hard to just say that … it probably cost @least over $100k alone just to put a jayz concert together … people dont think about that and then complain about paying a cover charge …. your $200 is nothing compared to what was put up and the work and effort that was put forth to bring you that event …… if you want a cheaper price then expect a CHEAPER SHOW …. or no show @ all … cause some artist set thier bar …. and in order to bring you that same level of quality they cant short change the investment …. so why ask them to short change the COVER ?? even if they did how long could they survive like that ?? you gotta really think about that … thats why its very rare to see a FREE concert TOUR …. the cost especially in 2013 of a free QUALITY show can possible drive a mofo to the poor house ……………………. @ the end of the day its gotta make sense ………………………………..

      • Matt Swan

You have a good point, but with sponsors now fighting for naming rights at these concerts, the setup/takedown fee’s are already paid for, so almost every other dollar is profit either to the venue or the artists themselves. And with mega companies like Live Nation, I’m sure they have a good rate with all the major venues. Before long, going to a concert will be like going to a NFL game….non existent. The owners keep raising the ticket and parking costs, not to mention the beverage, food, and fan items, and folks aren’t going. This leads to blackouts because now folks realize why spend for a family of four upwards of 1k for everything to see a ball game when you can see it at home for pennies on the dollar AND be comfortable? And sooner than later Pay per view is going to start stinging because again why pay all that money to see a concert when you can pay$50(?) and sit your butt at home in peace and see the same thing without people stomping all over your new J’s? IMO maybe a younger crowd wouldn’t see the point in this being that most would want the live concert experience, but I’m too old for a ton of screaming, crappy seats, and even crappier food, and the only way I can see the artist is by…..watching the damn TV in the venue. I just think there should be more for the fans experience through lower costs that will make it more worthwhile to go to a show o game. Lets add insult to injury, DALLAS STATIUM. WHY would you pay to go in to see a concert or game (unless the cowboys are loosin) when you can stay outside and watch it on the worlds largest tv? Again IJS

      • Tony G.

not sure what show ur speaking off…But the “cheap” seats here didn’t start that high and Jay don’t set ticket prices

  • Guillaume Pilon

even for free working for jay z still cool

      Stop

    • johnblacksad

      Exactly : just stop!

    • ItGoesDownINtheDM

yall say stop but its probably true … lol … for real … im pretty sure Roc Nation doesnt have a crazy 100+ person staff … most record labels arent stafffed that heavy especially post the decline of record sales … and most of the bulk of those employees are working for free, interns … the PAID staff is def slim …. when i was working for asylum records who is under atlantic …. as far as staff that was getting PAID … you had about i want to say less than 10 people and i really want to say 6 people … thats Head (joie manda who is president of def jam now) and VP A&R (jim jones was @ the time) …. President (tod mokowitz spelling who i believe is over joie @ def jam right now, i think just going off memory right now) …. Marketing …. 3 people working radio, one mixshow, one commercial & colllege radio … one of those radio guys was J Grand if your a long time listern of kay slay show you maybe familar with J Grand ….. Then you had the lady that hired me which we were the record promo team … basically did what everyone else didnt do … mail shit out, make runs to other labels, meet new djs, get lunch etc…. but the lady that hired me was the only one getting a check ……. and we had 3 interns including me … me and this other guy assisted radio promo … and the 3rd intern was assisting A&r ….. towards me leaving that situation they hired another intern though cant really remember what they hirred him for tho ….

    • ddsdavey

How can you use a profile name but not get the spelling correct? It takes 2 seconds to google a word.”Nostradamus” not nustradamous,DUMBASS!

      • nustradamous

I know who Nostradamus is smart guy…….I’m Nustradamous!……..you just mad you wasn’t the white girl jay z kissed in the Picasso video….. Lol……..PURGE YA SELF!

  • bigdoe6

    Damn i need a internship.

  • don king

50,000 4 the whole company, 500,000,000 4 jay + his wifey got… just sayin. its nice if his employees feel appreciated, but dont get it twisted, this is nothin 2 him, he got jewles more worth than 50gs. “have fun with it” – generous jigga

    • Weedras

Koch brothers worth billions and invest more into controlling the gov’t than they give to charity…. not even the doorman get tips from them dudes… so even if 50gs is nothing to dude…. that money is still a great bonus for anyone other than someone involved in a high ranking position..

      • don king

yeah u r right, but just because they r worse than jay still doesnt mean hes generous. he makes more than 50 mill a year! 1,000 x 50,000. givin 10,000 away 4 him, is like 50$ 2 me in relation lol, but 4 real its even less 4 him. its NOTHIN 2 him. plus this isnt charity, its a bonus 4 his workers, who r a part of makin his company work that effective. how high is the bonus 4 jay??? check jays charity work, dont worry it only takes 1 min.

      • Weedras

i know about his charity work i volunteered once for an event his foundation had put together for some high school kids in NJ and a few of them got scholarships to a few area colleges… but the point still remains though he’s still giving back to those who are helping him in a way that isn’t the norm in this capitalist society… which other company yo have assistants and lower level folk getting 50gs? and its his company ofcourse he’s the man with the big dollar but to give a lil something back says alot.. as i said right now we got folks like the KOCH brothers and others trying to even stop us lay folk from even getting the scraps off the big boy table by having the gov’t do their bidding so to give a lil something back to those helping you build is commendable… and c’mon i’ve been on here too many times and see ppl say dude doesn’t give back but now its revealed he is… its now being discounted as nothing…

      • don king

u just said it GIVING BACK!!! those workers keep his company at a high professional level n their boss is makin millions each year of this foundation. i just dont see why they should b gladd bout their “generous” boss, if they pretty much worked 4 the bonus. asshole is asshole, no matter how big it is.

      • Tony G.

but that bonus is prolly more than ur clown ass makes in a yr and don’t say u wouldn’t take it and take it with a damn smile on ur face…stop trippin fam

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

def i dont think anyone would disagree with that …. i def wish all corporations operated like that … most conglomerates could afford to pay thier employees like pro athletes ……

      • johnblacksad

and if i’m not mistaken, i believe the Koch brothers ‘force’ employees to vote Republican… not sure exactly how they get to ‘force’ people to vote but i heard something in that nature

      • Weedras

yeah i’ve heard that rumor too.. i wouldn’t be too suprised if it’s true.. it was also revealed that they were behind the Wisconsin gov’s move to take away collective bargaining rights from gov’t workers…

    • Tony G.

yea..but that “bonus” is more than what some folks make in a yr…so tho it may not be much to him..it means something..don’t downplay the importance just becuz he’s wealthy

      • don king

“so tho it may not be much to him” thats all im talkin bout. i dont downplay 50gs, u jay z stans just interpret my comment wrong n make up a bunch of bs i didnt say. im writtin true facts n u guys think im a hater? smh!!!

  • Wavpin

Can’t believe some comments …. If Jay gave 2 millions to everyone in his company ya’ll would be saying that he’s an idiot to give money away like that…. Jay is an amazing human being! Ya’ll have to find something bad every time a black man does something good…

    • dehova

Amazing how? I respect what he’s done, that’s cool. I never heard of no rich white business man doing this but if companies paid people correctly in the first place, there would be no need for these types of bonuses. It’s because the dominant global political model is capitalism that we tend to eulogize any person who has considerable wealth.

      • Rahmel Leake

And it’s a tax write-off for him! Smokey mirrors. I’m just sayin

      • johnblacksad

N!ggaz always runnin with that “tax write-off” sh!t like they know anything about accounting… smh

Instead of givin it to the government, he gives it to people directly… where the smokey mirrors at? Plus it ain’t a donation, it ain’t like it’s 100% tax deductible… but why would I even discuss that with you? You’re blinded by hate… there’s nothin i can do

      • Inmadopicouroz✓QUEENSᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Dame is that you? Just because he shouted you out a few weeks ago don’t mean he want u back at ROC. U and JAZ bum azz!

      • Ramasez

Think he dropped that dash for a reason.

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

        lol

      • hoeyuno

Take that biggie ride…with elmo driving

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

when you make millions just to be able to get a percentage back of free money you gave away is a win win … lets be real here lol …. now for someone making less than $30k per year then its a different story … WE NEED ALL THAT BACK which is why someone who makes that much wouldnt even contribute a crazy amount like that ………

      • yeah, my math may be wrong, but i think he’d come out cheaper paying taxes on the money rather than give away his profits just for a tax write-off. I guess we’re all trained to look for an ulterior motive

      • Casor_G

What does tax write off have to do with anything?!?!? He is still giving away money

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

cause he can claim it and get some of that money back + good pr win win situation all around the board … but @ the end of the day i dont really care about that and not knocking the hustle or even paying it any attention … i wish i got a yearly bonus anywhere close to that lol def cant deny that …. i think the most i ever seen in a bonus check was close to $2000 and i dont even want to tell yall what that came down too after taxes !! lol

      • Casor_G

he is still giving away money. even if it reduces his tax burden, he would have been better off keeping them from a selfish standpoint.

give away 500K to get back 150k in taxes. That’s still a 350k loss. real money talk

      • TheOnlyCoop

But still money in the pockets for his employees. Sometimes negativity is just hate.

      • hoeyuno

What about the bonuses in the banking industry during the bailout. ijs..

      • That’s because the rich “white” businesses usually just spread the bonus money around the board of directors…. and they get them quarterly when business is good

      • Tony G.

no need for that kind of bonus?…doesn’t make sense

      • dehova

It makes perfect sense but maybe you have interpreted the statement incorrectly. Let me suggest you watch Michael Moore’s “Capitalism: A love affair”. This might provide you with the clarity that I’m failing to do.

      • TheOnlyCoop

Look I like Moore but @disqus_3R3yc07Hx8:disqus is right your comment doesn’t make sense. If a employer pays a very good and more than fair salary and then on top gives a large bonus when the company outperforms projections no one should have issues with that.

      • dehova

SMFH Did I say that the employer was paying a fair wage? I would have thought it was common sense I was referring to incidents where wages were not reasonable….but then common sense isn’t common is it

      • TheOnlyCoop

You’re correct common sense isn’t common. Because clearly you didn’t use common sense when applying your logic to this situation. The point we’re making is that your logic doesn’t apply here.

  • DesignatedH8R

Have fun with the money, blow it all away. But don’t invest it!

  • Troll_E_G

PR Move…….ploys to sweep Belefontes commentsunder the rug …..if true , he a good brother

  • Rahmel Leake

This has absolutely nothing to do with the original post, however I feel compelled to call Hov a coward. He had a national platform on Bill Maher to talk as slick as he does on his records…”Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse”, Smh. He sat dormant, almost the entire time he was mic’d up. Let NAS have that same platform, it would have made the front page of all the major papers. At least, I think. I’m just sayin’. He had nothing to say on the air. And knowing Hov’s track record, the cowardly camel will make mention of it in a “freestyle” in 5…4…3…2…

    • johnblacksad

“however I feel compelled to call Hov a coward”

Niggaz scrapin to justify their hate… smh
Nigga please… you remind me of Nadia Comaneci the way you stretchin.

    • churchboy2

You are right… It is completely unrelated to the original post.

    • TheOnlyCoop

“Let NAS have that same platform, it would have made the front page of all the major papers. At least, I think. I’m just sayin’.”

      LOLOLOLOL

“At least, I think. I’m just sayin’.”

      LOLOLOLOL

Have you ever seen how timid Nas can be interviews?

How may times have you seen Maher? The majority of the 4th guest come out promote whatever they are pushing and then some add just a little to other topics but very little else.

  • johnblacksad

When ya’ll gon report on the Picasso Baby vid? especially since illseed… ahem… excuse-me… Chuck Creekmur is in it…

I found it funny that he is shown exactly when Hov says “even my old fans are like old man just stop”

    • hoeyuno

that’s why this site looks like a rocafella website right now. chucks got jays balls on his chin at the moment.

      • johnblacksad

LMAO! First Hov acknowledged his review on Power 105’s breakfast club interview, then the invite at Pace Gallery and now he shows up in the vid… I give him propz tho

      • hoeyuno

O for sure. doing business with jay is huge. but you know chucks doing it all in hopes to get that kelly Rowland meet and greet.

  • ItGoesDownINtheDM

hopefully jayz also pulls the taxes out for his employess or @least told them a certain percentage goes to uncle sam dont need any more of his employees locked up for not paying taxes lol #beans …

      • Da Ledgendary

That means he spent 10 million dollars in bonuses. Thats 10 mil in taxes he doesn’t have to give the government

      • Da Ledgendary

I think he can afford 10 mil given how much money his company made in the last 12 months.

    • hoeyuno

I’ll take your 50 then if your too proud to take a bonus from your boss.
