Will Diddy Sue Documentary Over Involvement In Tupac’s Death Allegations?

Photo via Diddy’s Instagram

Diddy recently made headlines when Netflix announced a documentary alleging that he paid $1 million to have Tupac Shakur killed. Diddy was said to have hired a killer to shoot Tupac Shakur in a drive-by in 1996. In the documentary there have been claims that Diddy hired Crips gang member Duane Keith ‘Keffe D’ Davis to kill Shakur and his manager Marion Hugh ‘Suge’ Knight for $1 million. But allegedly on the night of the fatal shooting, it was actually Keffe’s nephew Orlando that pulled the trigger. Now allegedly the rap mogul is threatening to sue the company over the allegations in the documentary. Diddy says he had nothing to do with the death of Tupac Shakur, and he may be threatening to hit Netflix with a defamation lawsuit. Should Diddy sue? After all, these are some serious allegations that are pretty bad attacks on his reputation.

  • ZUBU

Puff not going to sue, he’s gonna be quiet and hope it all blows away. He doesn’t want an investigation opened up……

    • Brindle

yeah, he fronten, he don’t want this opened up

    • DLOUPO

Investigation opening up? The 2 shooters r dead! How do open that up? If he sues it’s all a waste of time cause dead men don’t talk

      • ZUBU

Keefe D is alive… He connects it all; did you read the article or watch the Doc? How is Biggies killer dead? We don’t know who he is unless you do?

      • Silent_Partner

But the 2 shooters are dead. unless you missed the last 25 years, Puffy is in the in crowd in Hollywood and entertainment. Short of him doing something to let them throw him under the bus like Cosby, they will say good little coon and keep it moving, more or less discrediting the source instead, a known and admitted violent gang banger, rather than the “respectable” Sean Combs who throws all of those ambiguously homoerotic white parties occasionally. It’s not like a former NYPD officer with an impeccable reputation came forward to say this, even though it’s the story I’ve always heard was true. Then, couple it with the time passed, and this will barely make a blip. However, if you read between the lines on things that Suge has said about it over the years, including the infamous, if you knew who killed 2Pac, you wouldn’t talk to the police quote, and what various cats who are gang affiliated and rap like MC Eiht and DJ Quik have said, this is probably how it went down or something very close to it.

      • ZUBU

I agree with you except, how is Biggie’s killer dead when nobody knows who it is? Also its more like 20-21 years not 25. Name Biggie’s killer or killers?

      • Silent_Partner

I meant by that that Sean Combs has been in the in crowd in Hollywood ever since he did what he had to do to get put on by Clive Davis and Andre Harrell back in the early 90s at 19 or 20. I’ve heard more than one story on Biggie’s killer, but it was always framed as an eye for an eye thing where Suge hired either crooked LAPD officers, which is what Ms. Wallace and Faith sued on the grounds of who were involved in the Rampart scandal or Poochie Fouse, one of Suge’s hard hitters back in the Death Row days that got killed during the Gang wars of the early 2000s that swept all of his killers out, to do it. The LA times actually did an article on how bloody it got back in like 2001 or 2002. This is why he went from the most feared man in the rap game to dude that was getting shot in the ass at Kanye’s party and dude who was getting knocked out at the barber shop and dude who was getting shot in the gut. Suge got street stripes, but he was never invincible; he just had some real ganstas on the team before who would get ignorant at the drop of a dime. Truth be told, I always heard he would have got murked too if he was on the streets but he was locked up at the time. I think it started from one of the gangsta dudes who used to be affiliated with Death Row being accused of stealing and the goon squad went to see him, but dude wasn’t taking that shit and the war ensued.

But I’ve heard that Poochie story more than the police one and trust that one more, and it’s the one that this guy said he proved and disproved the other story about the LAPD officers doing it.

      • Malik

Theresa – Suge’s baby mama – nailed the Poochie as the shooter angle for me, no doubt.

      • Silent_Partner

        Exactly.

  • STEPH

Can’t sue if it’s true like Zubu said he’s gonna be quiet and hopes it goes away. Because if a investigation opens up and certain bits of info and evidence pops up…….could spell doom for Puff, and bring about the saying when keeping it real goes wrong.

    • ZUBU

Exactly, he’s gonna ignore it. It would destroy his empire.

    • Silent_Partner

Yeah, that book had been out since 2007 or 2008, and nobody paid attention to it despite it being the most plausible and thorough investigation done. The little details that I had heard way back in the day like the Death Row cats having heat and shooting back after Pac had been shot were the things that let me know that he was on point with this back then. That was a lie that was told by Frank Alexander, that they were unarmed, and that was repeated to advance the Suge setup narrative that people pushed. Everybody in the hood knew those Crips gave Bad Boy protection when out West, and it had been in the streets forever that that car had gunshots in it when it came back from Vegas. LVPD and LAPD didn’t want to solve those murders, which is what it is….story as old as the sun. As Pac said, They Don’t Give a F*** About Us. Anyone with a brain should have known that after he was shot and they barely had security watching him in the hospital while death threats were still being called into Death Row HQ as he lie dying.

  • Brindle

that suit will bring on investigation….

  • Nana De Baus

    puffy is in big trouble

  • Anjali Joti

Puff diddy bop sweating bullets right about now, he knows they on to him now.

    • Silent_Partner

Sweating for what? You still have dummies saying he had nothing to do with it. That book has been out almost 10 years and the doc just basically summarized it.

  • THISIS50

    No way, he ain’t stupid.

  • John Sangi

Either way Puff looses…Sue and your credibility is gone, continue doing nothing about it and every one thinks you killed the most beloved artist of the last 100 years…For once it sucks to be Puff….

If it is true it’s only fair that one of the Outlawz get to handle the situation

  • Freedom Fighter

Can of worms he don’t wanna open

  • Consistent

Why sue Netflix for airing it when the accusations started with the book the former police officer wrote?? Just chill Diddy,Keefe D ain’t got no credibility at this point, even if it’s true no jury would let ratting azz Keefe D bury you!

    • Because that’s where the money is.

    • RapItUp

Netflix got real $$.. An entity worth suing. Diddy don’t have a reason to take dude’s pension (luggage fee/lunch money). Now Netflix can pony up some coin! I wonder if he’ll pull the trigger..

  • RapItUp

Well.. he could sue.. Get his $$ back for the hit.. With interest! Donate the proceedings to biggies estate. That would be nuts! Lol

    • You can always sue, doesn’t mean you win.

If Netflix done their paperwork right, which Im assuming they did, they’re not even liable for the guy’s utterings in the doc.

      • RapItUp

True. But you can sue, and prompt a settlement, which a lot of huge companies often do to skip the legal BS. If Diddy were so convincingly guilty on this, he’d be locked nearly two decades ago. I do agree though, Netflix more than likely got that paperwork right. Something to the tune of, “The views expressed in this media do not reflect those of…”

      • Malik

If Netflix is right on the paperwork, Puff by suing would only be playing into Greg Kading’s hand.

Greg decided to write the book because the brass at LAPD weren’t interested in pursuing the investigation to its logical conclusion and prosecution.

The investigation was only green lighted to begin with because of the multi-million $ wrongful death lawsuit Biggie’s mom & Faith filed against the LAPD, and since Kading’s thorough investigation has cleared them (LAPD) of any wrong doing, they couldn’t be bothered anymore to prosecute.

      • RapItUp

        Sounds fair to me

  • jacksjus

Sue how? All Netflix is doing is depicting a book. If anything he should have moved to block the book from ever releasing if possible.

  • bigdoe6

Well he can’t sue because it’s all facts. That detective did his homework. He’s the only one who actually did a real investigation. What they need to be doing is trying to find the cat who ran off with the money for the hit. He’s the only one who came up and wasn’t in the car. Now that’s crazy.

    • Malik

The cat you are talking about is Eric Martin aka ‘Von Zip’ but he is dead. He died August 27, 2012.

  • bigdoe6

Can yall believe this all started from one of Puffy homeboys who killed one Suge Knight homies. Biggie ended up in the mix and it’s still going on. Smh.

    • Malik

Yea, that sh1t that went down in ATL.

    • Golgo 13

      damn i never knew that

    • Silent_Partner

Which is why I’ve always said he’s the worst thing that ever happend to hip hop. If not for his shit, none of this happens. The whole reason there was bbeef was from the Jake Robles murder (the guy you’re talking about), who was Suge’s right hand man, and it boiled up to the point that got both Pac and Biggie killed because they were in the middle of somebody else’s shit that was bigger than them. Then, he was amping that shit up just as much as Suge was, putting bounties out on chains and shit, knowing how that was going to go. Reckless as hell. I wish both of those cats would have signed with J. Prince and Rap-A-Lot. He wouldn’t have promoted them like those 2 labels that had the machine behind them, but he would have kept them making good music and out of the dumb shit because he was a real G who wasn’t about that Hollywood shit like Suge and Combs.

  • Deltadawn

Diddy hasn’t got the balls to sue the actually detective that wrote the book bc that will only reopen the case. Which is what the detective wants. So Diddy will try and sue Netflix instead.

    • J Burn

      Exactly.

    • Pirate7X

I believe this is true. It also makes sense to sue the biggest multi-billion dollar new media company than some retired cop who might actually have evidence that could indict you.

What could happen is the DT might get named in the suit since he’s the source of the accusations. This will be interesting because Netflix is currently catching heat and getting dubious press for the “Diary of a Murderer” documentary series that some say has questionable facts also.

On the real though, we all know Puff’s a quiet gangster and button-pusher. That DT and the filmmkers of the doc better watch their backs because stuff may happen to their careers and livelihoods. Puff will use his leverage to make their lives hell, near guaranteed. Diddy’s no thug but he is powerful enough to cause problems.

  • Dan Tebasco

Some people seem to forget how Nick Broomfield’s documentary ‘Biggie and Tupac (2002)’ made everyone point their finger at Suge for the death of BOTH of them for years afterwards… A documentary is at the end of the day entertainment that tells a story and every interview and statement gets edited so that it follows that story and contradicting statements get taken out so you can’t really take either of them as hardcore facts always with a grain of salt

    • youngslim

Most of what he said was true but the most important detail was a lie he didn’t pay to kill PAC. I have my sources I knew the truth a year before the movie came out. Puff bodygarud did start it. His bodyguard was killed by big meach from BMF.

      • Wolf / JLo shooting

      • youngslim

Don’t know bout that jlo shooting but wolf was his bodyguard

      • Yeah, Wolf was with Diddy & Shine & JLo.
Wolf shot Meech & died in the return fire.

      • Pirate7X

Question: Diddy also allegedly shot in the air along Wolf and Shine, right? Weren’t ALL of them ‘allegedly’ strapped that night (except J-Lo)?

  • Ricardo sanchez

At the end of the day those cowards involved with killing Pac made him a martyr

  • Pirate7X

I don’t know where they got the ‘Lando allegations from; “…it was actually Keffe’s nephew Orlando that pulled the trigger…” what? Security cameras at the MGM in Vegas place him as the beatdown victim right before the shooting, not the shooter.

The arcticle writer needs to check their sources; because of Lando’s beatdown on tape he’s probably the ONLY person could claim he DIDN’T pull the trigger back then. Tell if I’m wrong, this from what I’ve read and understood for the last two decades.

Allegations about his involvement are another thing; it’s more possible he allegedly set it up to start an altercation with Pac, Suge and the entourage then call the alleged shooters and that’s on the tape from that night.

Conspiracy to murder maybe. It’s likely he was partially responsible. But the late ‘Lando’s proven location makes him one few people in the world who could claim he was not the trigger man.
