Chance The Rapper’s “Coloring Book” Set To Make Album Chart History

DRAKE & BEYONCE BATTLE FOR THE TOP SPOT

(AllHipHop News) This year has proven that music streaming is not a passing fad, it’s the future of the industry.

After Kanye West, Beyoncé, and Drake each reached major milestones in 2016 thanks in part to streaming, Chance The Rapper is on the verge of making history as well.

HitsDailyDouble reports Chance’s Coloring Book is set to open in the Top 10 on the album chart, despite the fact the mixtape was not for sale.

That will mark the first time a project charted strictly from streaming numbers.

The Chicago rhymer’s third official mixtape collected enough streams on Apple Music to earn between 40,000 – 50,000 equivalent album units. That is likely to put Coloring Book behind only Meghan Trainor’s Thank You (73 – 78K album, 95 – 100K SPS) as the highest charting debut for the week.

Drake is currently on pace to lead the album chart for the third consecutive week. The OVO leader’s VIEWS is predicted to total 200,000 units (85,000 pure sales). Beyoncé’s Lemonade is close behind.
