The Lox Go In On New Generation Of Rappers And Offer Up Some Stern Advice

THE LOX GO IN ON THE NEW GENERATION OF RAPPERS!

(AllHipHop News) The debate over a new crop of rappers will only intensify, thanks to some statements recently made by legendary Hip Hop group The Lox.

The trio appeared on a recent episode of DJ Whoo Kid’s “Whoolywood Shuffle,” on Sirius Satellite Radio.

Even though the guys touched on a number of subjects, including their past beefs, and what it takes to be a new artist, it was their take on the new generation of Hip Hop artists that was the highlight of the interview.

Towards the end of the 23 minute sit down, Sheek Louch, Styles P. and Jadakiss blasted a certain type of Hip Hop, that hasbasically become to be known as “mumble rap.”

“The new era don’t respect whatever’s before them because it’s so instant, like grits, now,” Jadakiss snapped. “You can be dumb hot for the next nine months and you can disappear after that. So they just, catch a wave of some money, and some heat, and some endorsements, and one of them 720 deals

The Lox, who started their careers on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment, echoed the label’s founder and his sentiment over the state of Hip Hop, which led him to claim he was taking a break from his social media accounts last week.

Jadakiss blamed technology for helping to dumb down a new generation of rappers, and their connection to the history of the culture.

“Before we got on we studied. Not even studied, just coming from school everyday turning on Video Music Box, just soaking all that kind of s##t up. That played the part of our career,” Jadakiss said. “Now, you don’t have to turn on s##t. You can look on your screen at whatever you want and do whatever the f##k you want.”

Rappers like Young Dolph, Lil Yachty, and Lil Uzi Vert have clashed with a number of veterans, including Pete Rock, Lil Wayne, and even Bronx rap legend, Kool Keith.

The guys named the number of rappers they liked, including Young M.A., J. Cole and Kendrick and Dave East.

And it was not total condemnation for the younger generation.

“Man. The one thing I got to say, is young, black m############ getting money and aint goin to jail,” said Styles P. “Respect the culture and learn your history motherf%#ker.”

The news comes on the heels of the Lox’s critically acclaimed album Filthy America … It’s Beautiful.

The album is their first together in 16 years, and features production by Pete Rock and DJ Premiere, who was also roped into the debate when Lil Uzi Vert refused to rap over a Gang Starr track during an appearance on Hot 97.
