I agree with everything Sharp Shooter said. I think Nas vs Jay was one of the best, if not the best lyrical battle in hip hop history. It wasn't like Pac and Biggie, that was 1 sided, mostly Pac was attacking Big, and Big wasn't really saying anything back, directly anyway, Biggie threw a couple subliminal's toward Pac, but that's it. In my opinion, 50 ain't on Jay level lyrically. KRS-1 use to make valid points, but lately he been saying alot of stuff that i disagree with.

Wut up, it's not always about whp's more lyrical.  Biggie and Jay were both more lyrical than Pac and he woulda murdered them fools.  In a battle, most people don't care how slick you say something, they are more concerned with WHAT you say.  Take Ether for example:  that wasn't a "lyrical" diss.  People felt Nas won because of WHAT he said.  Same with Take Over, not lyrical.  Hit'em Up killed all them fools but it wasn't really that lyrical.  I think 50 would Murk Jay.  

Agree with previous statements.  Jay VS. Nas was my all time favorite.  I don't think 50 would be able to get at Jay like Jay could get at him.    Would it be good for Hip Hop?  Not sure.   Don't really see what it would do for the culture.  If anything, it would be good for Jay / 50 because they would profit from it.  Who else does it help though?

I don't think 50 is the King of New York personally, I don't think Jay is either. In my opinion, Nas is the king of New York, just by his longevity and the classic songs and albums he put out. He already beat Jay in a battle lyrically, so i don't see how Jay can be the king of NY, with a lost under his belt. You might feel differently, but that's how i feel. Even 50 said Jay lost to Nas, but it would be good to see.

I agree with everyones opinion that a true battle is more about what you say rather than how you say it.

With the Jay vs Nas beef I didn't care how slick dudes were with their wordplay.  I just wanted to know what type of information dudes were going to throw at each other.  Basically, I wanna hear why 1 dude thinks he's better than the other.  Period.

My take on this is if its gonna be strictly hip hop and none of that WWE, you tube ish its gonna be interesting. We all know how 'beefs' go nowadays- its a lot of youtubing, twittering and all other ish that aint got a thing to do with hip hop. Like the camron/jim jones and jay 'beef'..that was mostly them dipset guys just clowning..camel this, camel that. flip flop this, flip flop that. Hows that hip hop? It's pretty easy to get Distribution though, they can go thru a small Distribution Company, they don't need no morer than 1 million printed up, they might not need that, due to how CD's is selling now. If Digital Sales keep up the way they is, The artist won't need Distribution, they can just sell their music online, you just burn the tracks to your CD, like you do on Itunes.

As far as battles go, it is a lyrical bout but wit is a big element. I see 50 as someone who knows well how to dig up dirt and come with potent disses that will have the masses wanting to hear more. He has stated in many interviews that he doesn't drink alcohol yet in his lyrics he consistently attempts to present the image that he drinks (i.e. In Da Club). He's a convicted felon which prevents him from possessing any firearms yet his lyrics are flooded with reference to guns he claims to bust so one must believe that he's continuing to promote a fraudulent image or he can't come up with any metaphors other than gun references which would speak to his lyrical deficiency. Dude is a savvy businessman, a good songwriter and can come up with some very catchy hooks but none of that makes him a solid MC.

Ross did twice as many units as fiddy his first week.  Ofcoarse 50 does pick his targets carefully. Back when J-Prince, Scarface, ZRo & Bun B murdered him on the song "Snitch Niga" he was quiet as a f'n church mouse after that. Back when Hussein Fatal ripped him in a couple of songs "..Pac would've never done a song with no wanksta snitch..." he was quiet as hell too. He's got that eminem syndrome where you're real careful about who you go at. Problem is Em is even worse. He beefs with techno stars and females who sing R&B.  Bottom line....no contest folks.

I don't respect KRS's opinions like I used to. 50 is a battle or beef whore, just like he called Wayne a whore for jumping on all them songs lowering his worth, 50 has lowered his worth when it comes to battles or beefs by trying to beef with and taking shots at way too many people.
